Signature items for Thieves

I'll start this off by saying that I don't really know how the ninjas' signature emote works with a successful assassinate, but I do imagine that this skill/item would work much the same. The premise is simple: allow thieves to have some sort of cheap/useless signature item that they can plant on their victims for various reasons, such as a successful theft. This item is designed by the Thief, Imm approved, and more than one cannot be planted on/placed on/given to a victim by the Thief in a certain period of time (like a game day).

So, yeah, that's it, really. Thoughts?

an item?

wouldnt you want more of a custom blackjack message?

I don't inderstand this suggestion.. :/

Alright, let me give some examples. Let's say I'm a Thief and have just stolen some really uber item from a character. As it stands now, all this victim will really know is the item's been stolen by someone (we're assuming that locate object won't immediately out me as the thief for whatever reason). Now, if I, as a Thief, am going for some infamy but don't want to just out myself, I could plant this signature item (let's call it a red garnet figurine carved in the shape of a hare) so that the victim knows that they've been robbed by the scarlet bunny.

Another example. If I, as a murderous thief, am stalking someone and like to instill fear into the hearts of my victims before going in for the kill, I could plant this item on them to let them know that I'm after them and that I could have killed them by now if I did not wish to first instill a sense of fear.

These are just a couple of examples. More can be done with an ability like this, all of which promote RP. Does this make sense, now?

bad date?

Like a signiture the thief leaves behind. I like the idea, though when ever I play thieves I never want the person to know it was me.

Now a days however just a simple process of elimination will do the trick.

You can already write up a parchment I think. I forgot the name of this skill. That could function as a sort of calling card. One problem is having to leave the shadows to give someone something. This would have to entail a new skill that allowed you to stay hidden.

Not that bad, thought of something similar Myself while thinking of the Ninja Alias. Keep thinkin Peras! PROPS!

Plant? Parchment -could- work, though the skill/syntax isn't clear, and it'd need to be open to Thieves, but I think the ability to make a signature item would still be cooler.

Why don't you just apply for it? It is an RP tool, not a real skill...

Draft.

Hmm, now that I've played around with plant, this idea seems kinda useless. Perhaps if there were an ability to give something to someone while hidden (even if they saw an item being given to them). I realize it can be done if they're asleep, but it'd be much more RP friendly if it could be done if they were awake. Again, as long as it were visible but the Thief were not, it shouldn't be overpowered (you can already give something to someone if unhidden, after all).

on my last thief I used pry, counterfeit, then plant the item back with a trap on it.

That is a signature, certainly, as is blackjack/draft/give, but both of those require blackjack. Something like this could be given to both Thieves and Bards, since they're both capable of hiding and stealing, and would open up more RP possibilities.

love the idea- STILL!

Cool Idea, would of been neato when they was actually a ton of thieves running around when there were 70-80 players online.
