Project Dragon

Intrigued by the name? And you should be.

Dragon Qrace.

First let me begin by saying there will be THREE kinds of dragons. Just like we have three kinds of sliths, but not exactly.

White dragon, Green dragon, Black dragon.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be giant (fire/storm/stone) race. Must be follower of Atheism/Agnostic. Must be chaotic. Must be warrior or zerker. Must not be above level 30. Will be reverted back to rank 1 if accepted.

Reason: Dragons are giant by size. They also are mighty and wise creatures who rival gods and therefore do not believe in them.

VULNS:

As dragons, they should be affected by the dragon slayer weapon and its nice special. They should also have vuln to piercing weapons. They can not enter cabals.

FEATURES: Giant size and flight.

Upon conversion, the dragon will become one of those:

Fire giant = black dragon

Stone giant = green dragon

Storm giant = white dragon

Here comes the interesting part. Dragons can level, just like malforms. They will gain different abilities every time they level. How many kills one will need to gain a level will of course need to be tuned, but for a start I am suggesting something like this – 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10 (55 kills total)

Abilities they will gain upon ranking:

Level 1: +1 str

Level 2: +2 str

Level 3: +3 str (+6 str in total)

Level 4: protection from good/evil and greenheart effect for neutrals.

Level 5: magic resistance

Level 6: +1 tail attack every 2 rounds.

Level 7: haste (can be turned on and off with no lag)

Level 8: fear effect which can not be resisted

Level 9: black breath (black dragon) 200 damage with sanc, 400 without. Unaffected by saves.

psionic blast (white dragon), 100 damage with sanc, 200 without. 2 hour paralyze effect (can not be saved/resisted).

titan size (green dragon).

Level 10: The dragon is a true god now, so he deserves an immortal like title – one white/light green/grey word for the respective type of dragon. They also gain the ability of a global warcry (yes they get the warcry ability now too, no matter they don’t have a religion – they need to create a custom warcry).

Few words about dragons. Dragons are to be considered like patrons for mortals of their alignment. Each dragon will be the epitome of Avatar/Watcher/Evil i.e. White dragons will relentlessly hunt evils. Green dragons will stalk unnatural beings. Black dragons don’t need reason to kill anyway.

All dragons will be considered enemies of Tribunal and will be marked wanted outlaws directly when they become one.

I am thinking about something along the lines:

25 str

21 int

21 wis

15 dex

25 con

Nothing bad to say about this Idea, so I will ask a few questions and suggest a modification;

What is the level requirement?

Will they wield weapons?

Will they wear shields?

What is the class requirement?

Would rangers keep their pets?

Lastly, as a rule colored dragons are evil(white, green,black), metalic are good(silver, gold, platinum), and those balanced dragons resemble gemstones(emerald, ruby, topaz). Atleast in most D&D settings..

Hm, forgot stone giants can be rangers.

I was thinking about dragons being able to be only warriors and berserkers.

Lever requirement should be 30, but they should be reverted back to level 1 when they become one, so they can take advantage of the 25 con and so they can battle the rest of the wannabes at 30.

They should be able to wear shield. Yes, they should be able to wield the normal weapons for warriors/berserkers.

PS. You coloring system seems a bit too messy for me. I prefer mine tbh, lighter colors = good (white gold), darker = evil (red, black), green is a default color for nature/balance anyway

I think that certain aspects of this could work. But I think they should be able to join certain cabals.

Interesting idea, I also have a few questions will it be limited to say 1 for each alighn? Similiar to q-races it seems so I take it will be held like such. Will they lose skills and spells or have a preset? But I like the idea just seams to me a bit powerful, but the again you did state they rivial gods. Also reminds me of the hero lvl.

I don't think joining mortal organisations like cabals would fit well into the dragon RP, besides their abilities are strong enough as it is. They really don't need more skills.

Or, they can be like avatars and only go up to T.

No. Why should they? It is only a Q-race, not class.

But I like the idea just seams to me a bit powerful.

Of course, it is powerful, that is how it is supposed to be. But isn't a demon nexus leader dual wielding two malforms at 10 powerful? And it doesn't even have such hugely exploitable vuln. And they have some mean "natural enemies" to fight, in the face of tribunal. Also will give Tribbies some enemies to fight too, so they don't get bored.

No. Why should they? It is only a Q-race, not class.

Looks more like a reward for someone who is close to condeath and has lead an exceptional life..

I just want to say that if something like this were implemented, I would return to roll a new char right away. It just sounds so freaking awesome. Although maybe overpowered and in need of nerfing, this is the most exciting race/class idea I have seen. Nice foxx.

Dwargons wielding swords ? I think not.

Only you can limit them to hand to hand.

In fact, they should also have no gear.

Now, that is an interesting concept, a class that cannot wear gear but can use items. (Wands/Staves/Scrolls,vials...)

Also, black breath already in the game, no need to change that... with a new unsavable 400 damage skill/pell.

Dragons are also normaly Casters, why would they only be meeles?

You forgot to add some sort of AC bonus to your Dragons.

15 DEX is fitting for a Large creature, but they will have crap AC. You should give them some sort of STRONG AC buff.

so lets give dragons a permanent bonus to ac, maybe -150 ac? also dragons not being able to wield or wear armor is bull hockey. look more into dragon lore, mya.

It is a level 9 ability and takes 45 kills to unlock it... it should be strong. Hell, those are kills enough for a full malform.

Also don't forget that enemies basicly have the same thing with dragoslayer and they don't need 45 kills to be able to use it against you.

Because they are too big to be very dexterous. Give them a natural AC bonus for their scales if you want.

You have a point. From an RP point of view they should have some sort of AC bonus, BUT I think for balance reasons it shouldn't be much (IF there is to be one at all).

I am thinking about a skill more along the lines of stone skin/flesh armor that reduces a small % of the physical damage taken rather than a HUGE AC bonus.

Why not a huge ac bonus? Just opens them up to a lightning vulnerability.

Make them dual resistant and keep their AC low. They should not be difficult to hit, just diffilcut to hit hard. Too much AC and you end up with too much missing, which should not happen vs a dragon.

You hit him, just fail to penetrate the thick hide.

Both Magic and Physical Resistence is a bit insane on a 25 con Class with a "Malform"...
