FL Voice Acting

Autosound prolly will be a command. Turned OFF by default because not all clients will support it. I will do wave files for multiple scenarios like those Mya...PM me or list some more ideas for sound clips and ill record them tonight. Ive done some for guard greetings and fountains. Played with some weather ones too.

Multiple people have told me they plan to do voice recordings. It would be better if one person was in charge of organizing it and assigned people by area, list etc. That way we don't get duplicates and managing submissions is easier.

I've got a good head start on a lot of this. If anyone working on this as well could PM me so we can get organized that would be great.

Pretty sweet.. just noticed that this thread took off.

Is anyone actively doing anything with this? I stopped since no one showed any interest in doing what Zhokril suggested and pooling efforts. I didn't feel like bombarding his inbox with files if three others were going to do the same and wouldn't combine resources.

Run this like a project.

If no one takes the lead, you take the lead (charge).

I will not be participating in this, but advises are free

Create a blog. Something you can write, and others can write, to.

Use the blog to upload files and make them available to download.

Make all files very small. Small size > HiFi quality.

Don't forget to say what is the mud text line that will trigger the sound.

Good luck.

The point is that all that work will go potentially go to waste since X number of other people are doing the same thing.

I am working on this again as a serious project. If anyone has anything they've done and wants to put it to use, please email me

I don't want to be a negative nancy but I thought I would give a little input.

If these sound files are used for all the generic speech thrown around in areas, it will be a cool novelty for a little bit then most if not everyone will quickly tire of hearing the same things over and over.

I'd recommend using them for the more important events and a few for the ambiance that is usually ignored. Weather is a great example.

Another solution would be to spice up the sounds by randomly assigning the file. What I mean with this is when lightning occurs, it may play one of four thunder.wav files. Or different voices saying slightly different messages for the town crier.

When a Barbarian WM kills someone after a challenge - I always heard the old school Mortal Combat voice "Fatality!" in my head.

+1.

And for big mobs that players don't interact with frequently (puppetmaster, demoninicon, adeptus).

All of Shubaks fortunes should be in voice.

Who wants to volunteer to do the prostitutes voice in gal ranidon?

I've gotta get me a microphone. And I want a mob made from my forum personality...no...I want a whole area based around The Reverend Valek.... Someone go update that area underneath Falen Dara.

can you imagine actually having to listen to the story in Gear?

I would have time to slip outside for a cig, cook up some pepper poppers, and refresh my Coke.

I'll bring some pizza, my cigs, and cherry coke. We can chill!

I have a sound trigger for You are hungry.

It is Samuel L. Jackson saying "MMMMm That IS a tasty burger."

I have morning/evening wav's too that came with 'the Battle of Wesnoth' (a linux game) that is open for distribution according to the Open GNU License..
