Ninjas and two handed

I have never understood why doublesheath (espescially post autothrow change) gets two handed and shadow strike does not. Shadowstrike is the path meant to be in combat longer than any of the other paths, but does not get the extra defense. My suggestion is that doublesheath should lose two handed because their path is designed to be opening combat, and using shurikens. Giving them an extra defense doesn't seem to make sense since they are the defacto hit and run class. Shadow arts is designed to stay in prolonged combat to stack their debuffs as long as possible. Most of those debuffs have a 5 hour timer, so getting them stacked quickly is needed, but you lack the defense to stay in combat reliably vs moderately to well armed people.

Why does one have to lose it for the other to gain it?

Doublesheath can’t use a two handed weapon and throw nor can they sheath a two handed and throw off murder then draw. Using a two handed weapon is a straight one for one exchange for doublesheath as they lose the throw.

I just think a class that has such violent skirmish closing ability shouldnt also have the most combat versatility of all the ninja paths. They can kill you faster than any other path, and stay in straight melee longer. I am not really against both of them having two handed, I just think that if only one subclass can get it, that it shouldn't be doublesheath is all.

But isn't that exactly why doublesheath's auto-throw was changed? They now have to dual wield to throw when they murder or when their opponent flees. That means they no longer gain the skirmish power AND defense rolled into one easy to use package, but instead now have to choose.

I'm not opposed to shadow arts gaining two-handed, but I don't agree with it having to be a one or the other implementation.

I am not opposed to it either. I just think if it remains that only one subclass should get it, it should be shadow arts because they are the only of the subclasses designed to stay in combat for prolonged periods.

Too few options; threw a hedgehog at a ninja.

give ninjas selectable hedgehog throw

Selectable hedgehog throw?  I'd roll a ninja right now.

First ninja to ever hit themselves with a throw

I feel obligated towards one of these answers...
