Leveling

With the current playerbase being so low it is not always easy to find a group to level. I know the experience has been increased which is nice. However, I was thinking to help the people who have trouble leveling such as new people in the game, old players who don't get to play as much, and just generally everyone. Perhaps it could be made that when you have a "hireling" from one of the stores, it counts as a party member as far as experience gain is concerned.

That way if a person can at least find a second player for their party, they can have a hireling and it will give them experience as if they had three players. Just a suggestion. I am not sure if this has been suggested before.

Perhaps when the player base kicks up it can be removed. Let me know what you think?

Think of it this way: An incomplete group = training + leveling. That's how I look at it.

When you're in a group of less than three, you're fighting less difficult mobs and can use practice weapons and skills that you otherwise get frowned at when you're in groups of 3.

That's the long and short of it...smaller groups = slower leveling combined with training.

That is exactly how I take it too.

Instead of fast ranking then slow training, I prefer slow ranking and training at the same time.

I am the opposite. I like focusing on one thing at a time. I like fully focusing on training or fully focusing on leveling. I have never used leveling as a training method or vise versa. I am unused to having to cope with the lack of player base. It doesn't cripple me but it is just a pain in the rear to me.

The tweak to exp is huge, just give it time. I have a character I'm just taking some time to train up and get ready for the fall and he put down 2 levels during a single treant invasion solo in his 40s.

You can pretty much solo to 30 you know?

I just power rank, and then train latter. Less time training even if i spend a bit more ranking.

Yes I can solo to thirty easy. Can Joe Bob who just started playing FL level to 30 himself? If so then leave it as is. If not then something needs to be changed.

Lol...

I cant power rank to thirty on a commune/caster class.. (power rank meaning 2 days or less to that point.)

Does that make me newb?

... Probably.

It depends on the class. If I know I'm gonna play something like invoker/cleric who can't solo anything without then resting forever, I usually go adventurer for a while, for nothing if not dirt.

I like the idea. Will this 'Hireling' act as like a mercenary or charmie in the way of attacking and casting?

It would just be a normal hireling that you buy at the store, i.e. drow merc, dwarf merc, or which ever charmie you buy from the stores in all the major cities. They would still do the same damage, skills, abilities. However, they would add experience to a party as if they were a actual player.
