qrace for neutrals

Qrace for Neutrals

Mutant

Foreseeing the need of more powerful representatives to preserve the balance of forces that rule Aabahran, nature instilled in humans a dormant genetic flaw. When certain conditions are met, this genetic mutation consumes the the body, irreversibly ushering the human into the next stage of evolution. While little is known about these mutants, rumors claim that they can be more graceful than ferals, more intelligent than a drow, or even stronger than an ogre. As nature seeks balance in all things, it also planted a seed of vulnerability within these mutants, to insure that the creature returns unto the land passing eventually from the land of the living.

Must Be neutral

Must be Human

Must not be in a cabal

Must be between rank 15-30

Must be a member of one of the following classes;

Warrior Berzerker Ranger Blademaster Druid Invoker Battlemage Thief Ninja Bard

Suggested Perks

+4 to primary attribute

This raises the mutant max stat to 25 instead of the human 21

to be balanced by reducing all other stats by one point max 19 instead of 20

automastery of three class specific skills

warrior = riposte, two handed, fast healing

berserker = rage, relax, weapon cleave

ranger = herb, camo, mind link

blademaster = vigil, acupuncture, snake speed

druid = druid skill, druid skill, druid skill

invoker = control weather, meditation, hurricane

battlemage = terra shield, localize gravity, air shield

thief = sneak, steal, defuse

ninja = chii, grapple, study

bard = tune, refrain, analyze

  • these are just suggested skills/spells off the top of my head, would be altered for balancing to be certain.

Suggested Vulns

I suggest that each mutant will develop its own vuln, created at random upon approval, this way you must feel the mutant out to see what will hurt it the most. Might make each vuln class specific to aid in balancing.

I will enjoy hearing your thoughts, this may not be a "new" idea, but I havent the time to dig up any old related posts.

I think it's great, but I can't shake the X-men stigma from the term 'mutant.' This being said, I think a lot could come from that concept, though it might take a bit more work on the Imms' parts.

What do you think of the Imm tailoring the abilities and weakness to the individual character? Look at the mutants of the Marvel Universe. Most of them had no clue of their ability (like you say, it lays 'dormant'), until it spontaneously erupted. Accordingly, the Imm could choose the abilities/weaknesses the mutant would receive based upon the class and RP.

I think some problems that could arise include player dissatisfaction with their abilities and frustration fighting said mutant without knowing anything about them (the first few times you fight them). However, there would probably only be 1 or 2 active mutants, so I don't think it would be that huge of a deal. It certainly would add a level of prestige, interest, and uniqueness to each mutant.

What do you think of the Imm tailoring the abilities and weakness to the individual character? All for it.

I like it.

Small comment, Query?

I like the idea and propagation of ideas for Qrace Neutrals. Though along those lines I saw there application, and requirements slightly different.

Allowing Lvl 15-30 is more along the lines of undead/demon Qrace style, kinda promotes Pk, as has been discussed elsewhere, Also that Lvl 30 sitting stuff can only ever be filed up with so much Rp. And there have been complaints at the length of time spent at 30, waiting for app approvals etc.. only to have them delete or, if they make 50, shelve soon after as they don't wanna be another Human lvl 50 Qrace failure (just a generalization).

A more Avatar 15-50 application process may allow for a more fluid transition. I just rarely see posts/complaints about the Avatar application post, just suddenly there is a new avatar out there amongst the light walkin' community.

The same feelings about the human/class requirements... Feel too similar to undead/demon in nature and as I said before it is debatable as to how many of those chars are deleted/shelved due to failure.

If the requirements where only based on the neutral align alone. Then it would open up for a whole host of RP/Pk viable PC's. This would have to discount then the Attribute changes proposed. But they could have a perk/adjustment in attributes none the less. This could open you up to some form of Mutant Force of nature with a slight boost in some attrib and your skill adjustments.

Shrug. Just didn't like the idea of rank 30 sitting neutrals, that can only rp so much of their time. Trying to take heads along the way, only to delete/shelve due to failure, but having still pissed off the player base for no other reason then the Qrace app. When, it could go more smoothly in a more RP styled progression, with any Neutral race, until LVl 50; and Thus more expectation of Rp from the Neutrals, And perhaps more restrictive on Pk then the evils, and overly devout goods.

Or not...
