lol it's amazing how much false information you can find on this forum. I'm afraid to search anymore
Group experience.
They're pulling your chain. There is no negative effect to the Lucky perk. Stop it guys.
yes there is.
I do not give false info.
The negative effects, however, are confidential and "to be discovered" in game.
Think of it this way, what does a real lucky person not need as much of. I hope that isnt to easy.
Ok, enough. If you have questions such as these, ask in game.
Ok' date=' enough. If you have questions such as these, ask in game.[/quote']
And what exactly should he ask?
"Hey, ehm, sorry, but can you tell me what is the downside of the lucky perk?"
It is not something which can actually be asked and answered ingame. It is not like asking about EQ.

This is exactly the attitude I do not like. It is like telling a newbie not to ask about malforms. You cannot afford to spend the time you need to get a lvl 10 malform, especially if you are a newbie (it will take years till a newbie can get such) just to "check" it. Things don't work like that.
I'll be straight and say that I also do not know what exactly is the downside to the lucky perk (IF there is one at all), but knowing what is the advantage of the unlucky perk, I can take an educated guess.
"Think of it this way, what does a real lucky person not need as much of." - That has to be the worst hint ever.
This is one of the few times that I agree with f0xx.How to get new players in the mud if we keep 50% of the answers to ourselves?

The way this thread started out was fine. But the posts have gradually become more and more "assumptions" rather than helpful information.

You want to help newbies? Get your facts straight and experiment yourself.
This is not Dnd. This is not WoW. There is no guidebook on every thing in this Mud. If you want to play a game where anyone can find exactly how to gear up, roll a super combo, get the best perks? Then go play Call of Duty Modern Warfare - a game which requires very little brainwave.
The forums are for the players to discuss things about the Mud. But in no respect is the forums supposed to be a giant helpfile on every aspect of the Mud. Some things are PURPOSELY left enigmatic so that players have to spend time discovering the finer things of the game. I am sorry if you do not like that, but its the way it is.
That has to be the worst hint ever.
i didnt think my hint was that bad
I really, really hate it when false information is given. Regardless of whether or not the giver thinks its right or not, it really, really makes me mad.
Perhaps we should put a disclaimer somewhere on the forum for all the newbies to see. "Not everyone knows what they're talking about!".
I'll leave it at that. I'll also leave with the note -- until someone can prove otherwise, there is no negative to lucky. Never has been, never will be. And if there has been a change sometime recently since Malch took over, I guess I can believe it.
But I don't.
Jibber, think of it being the opposite of the unlucky perk.
Never thought unlucky did the opposite. May have been changed? Not sure where you guys got your info.
I tested all the perks with a human.
Must have been your luck. Considering, luck is dependent on your HP gains anyway..
I've had several humans, mages or otherwise, and having lucky on most of my mages, I've had pretty high hps. Around 900-1000, (on battlemages), and around 750/800 on any other mage. Then again, hp gains on mages are smaller than on warrior types. My human warrior had 999 hp without eq, and my human berserker had 700 hp at level 30 before becoming a demon. No trains used.
And they were lucky perk.
Just because unlucky gives you -5 or so luck, while giving you +hp gains does not mean lucky gives you +5 luck and gives you -hp gains.
As I said Jibber, that was only a guess on what the "supposed" downside of the lucky perk could be. Again, don't try to put words into my mouth.
Err? Hey, wasn't talking about you. I actually thought you were on my side. That was more directed at Grim and Kyzarious.
Who cares.
Lucky perk is pwn.
Err? Hey' date=' wasn't talking about you. I actually thought you were on my side. That was more directed at Grim and Kyzarious.[/quote']
Hah lol, well they only said that the lucky perk has a downside, they never mentioned anything about lower HP gains and as I said, it was myself who hinted towards it (as a possibility).
I still have no freaking idea what was Kyzarius hinting at tbh...
I'm no scholar on the subject, I'm just going off of what I have noticed through playing and like physically testing things out to see what effects what and by how much.
Noob Disclaimer:
Anything I say about anything is totally and completely my opinion. In no way is any of this a textbook fact. I've been completely stoned and tinkered around with FL's dice system a lot to try to figure out what effects what and by how much. I'm just throwing out observations that I've made and ideas that I think are good.

Wtf, no way. I don't believe that. I had lucky perk with my drow thief and ended up with just under 700 in hp without gear (yes, I put every train into hp).
Uhm. Drow. Nyra has the lucky perk, and with every train in hp, ended up with 840 hp.
Why should a drow thief compare? ![]()
