Combat Divine Intervention Cleric -> Size +1

What if we gave the Divine Intervention of the Combat Religion a bonus of +1 Size.

It would be quite in line with the general Lore of Divine Intervention (D&D etc).

It's also not that useful, as you can't bash, and have Protective shield.

(Useful as in, it will not change balance of the class.)

uhm, I was under the impression this stuff shouldn't be talked about. Even while suggesting what to do with it. A suggestion would be to take it to the Prayer Forum and consult Malch or Zhokril.

Talk about what ?

I don't say what is the DI effect/s.

I just propose a +1 Size bonus to the effect or effects.

Nothing requires you to talk about the DI effects.

But i expect you to comment on the +1 size bonus.

If you like it. If you find it bad, good.

If you like the comics. If you think that you want a Dwarf Combat Cleric that can get Enlarged and stomp on halfling.

This is mostly a RP addiction. This has in my view very little impact in the PK department of a Cleric.

That strip is a good description of cleric vs cleric fights, haha!

Nice comics Mya!

You are aware that said size benefit would, in fact, provide some pretty heavy duty perks to a Combat religion cleric, a religion that does not really need any additional boosts in the PK department.

And for the last time, we are not D&D. We are not even D&D based, really.

"pretty heavy duty perks"

What perks you mean ?

The only affection i can think of is Thieves/Ninjas Blackjack/Strange.

But you don't walk around all the time with DI on.

So once you are aware of a threat, poison takes care of those.

Like i said. Protective shield is already present. And i am not speaking of Enlarge spell, which has some extra modifiers. Just +1 size.

We are D&D based. So says this DM.

First of all, poison provides dwarves and halflings with an obstacle when it comes to thieves/ninjas. Therefore, this would be a workaround that they don't need. Additionally, at least poison gives the opportunity for thieves and ninjas to play it safe, as there is a visible thing affecting you every round, so they know when they can/cannot attempt a blackjack.

Size also allows individuals to wield two-handed weapons with a shield (may or may not be a bug), which would allow ridiculous offensive output coupled with ridiculous defense. For example, wielding an arctron with a shield? Ouchy. And you can say that there are other sources of enlarge that allow the same thing, but none so readily available as a spell in your repertoire.

And I am fully aware we're not talking about the enlarge spell. I'm just saying, there are some perks that I would rather not see go to a divine intervention that is already arguably one of the best divine interventions.

Halfling and Dwarves can already poison themselves. Requires some knowledge, but it's not a big secret.

Giant Size does not prevents Blackjack. It makes it more dificult, or else my halfling would not blackjack Stone giants.

"Size also allows individuals to wield two-handed weapons with a shield"

This, i did not foresee. And can have an impact in balance.

This becomes a problem for exotics, due to the best being two handed.

And some vuln maces.

"one of the best divine"

I do not consider it the best.

But it's top 5.

Mystic

Discord

Combat

Purity

Without giving anything away, I would say that Combat is one of three divine interventions that is truly useful no matter what race you are or who you are fighting - something that cannot be said for most of the others you listed.

Before you get it changed, perhaps explain why is should be changed?

The combat religion (IIRC) has arguably one of the most powerful DIs that exist.....I don't really see it needing anything....

L-A

+1 size for DI compassion, because of your big heart!

Not the most powerful that exist.

A powerful one.

I prefer Mystic, since i value Magical Power in Clerics over Combat Clerics.

Discord is very powerful, if not the most powerful Combo.

Faith, sincerely i find lacking.

As for reasons, I already said. I think combat Clerics should "enlarge" when they cast it. Becoming bigger than a common Cleric.

Look at the Comic.

from a RP sense, it makes sense, but their DI needs to lose something if they gains this.

Church

I have a cleric of the church faith and without giving too much away, with one exception I don't even know what his divine Intervention does. Please correct me if I am wrong but it seems underpowered.

It is, but it does another thing you have not noticed. Very specific.

Still it's the worst, in my opinion.

Still his bless is very good all round. Good for Paladins. Not the best, but good.

Combat Clerics, have a less useful bless, for their focus.

Mya, you play too many clerics. Lol.

Blame it on the lack of flail for Paladins.

I just like the Class, it's like a Paladin with protective shield

Long fights are more interesting that Invocker 10 seconds rush.

Faith does some interesting things. Experiment a little more.

Bless for combat is actually really useful, considering what combat DI does.
