This - though I don't know if we should be discussing it here. There was also another 'trick' which I've seen absued by players (amazing no one reports bug that help them but as soon as a necro's zombies are titan sized...) which sounds like it may have been fixed. That would be awesome.
Personally, I think the item it gives should be bound to you - that way you don't see the caballed necro's with the item because their warrior friend got it for them. THAT makes me sick - there is a reason the mob is made hard to kill for the classes that benefit the most. Its not something that I particulary argree with being circumvented by players being friends.

I know what you are talking about. I reported it a few weeks back, perhaps this is in response to my post in the prayer forum.
I like the idea of it being bound to you once you pick it up.
As much as I love being given them to me, I think it's a little crazy. I remember a certain sexy paladin used to give them to me all the time, I think he was always fighting the wight to get the other item, I remember having like 3-4 of those sexy sticks in my inventory.
Doesn't your animals/zombies get transported with you to fight the Wight? I know mercenaries do... I would assume other charmies would also.

Getting them stuck in there isnt worth the risk.
Just make the staff a stave, not a useable item.
i would like that, and I am one of those classes.
Classes that can't cast level 50 sanctuary can't cast it for a reason. If everybody was supposed to have easy access to high level sanctuary they would be able to cast it. Those classes have other benefits to balance this out. Staves are a powerful tool given to certain classes, and it part of those classes balance. Usable items are rare, and rightly so, most of them are infact unique, this staff upsets that balance imo. There are other ways of getting level 50 sanctuary, they are just either harder to get, or have certain side effects, which is then balanced.
A decent warrior is already the consumable king.
Just look a few of the more successful ones out there. How many potions/leaves/vials/crap do yo think they already have to collect? I believe the staff is fine. EVERYONE can use it.
I believe it's fine too. It's quite hard to get.
