Adventurer, Description check, wut?

How come after you get your description proved as an adventurer, you still have to get it approved again when you enter the guild of your choice-hole?

May i ask why an experienced player would play a Adventurer, a no PK class instead of a regular class ?

obvious. free trains.

Ahem...

Indecision.

And yes, you can in fact train your stats up so that you are maxed and potentially decked by level 1, but thats not what I was going for in any way shape or form. I rolled one because I didn't know what I wanted to play.

When you mentioned that experienced player, was it safe to assume you were talking about someone other than grim?

This is what i do not like on Adventures.

Veteran player rolling a no-PK class for powergamming purposes.

Adventurers should be left to newbies, exploring characters and RP things.

Faerie Berzerker.... etc...

So i give out an idea.

Penalize Adventurers at character creation on the roll department even more.

Roll +10 (39 -> 49)

Max roll limit -3 (53 -> 50)

ex: 45 -> 55 , [max is 56, 56-3 = 53], 55 -> 53

This will penalize experienced players looking out for extra HP, while aiding new players have good HP's.

Maybe we can aid. What race ? Few battlemages around. Else go cleric.

They do well for limited time persons.

i really dont see this as that big of a problem, so what if you are trained by lvl 1 , i will be trained by lvl 15-30 anyway.

The only advantage you get from going adventurer is the fact you can get your stats maxxed and have some skills automatically practiced. They don't get anything worth a damn that would make them for powergaming. Anyway, that is beside the point, this is about descriptions. Adventurer doesn't make you any tougher, maybe save you a few practices, but what does that even matter?

Agree, once approved, it should always stay approved.

On topic; I am all for having to get it approved again. It gives me a chance to alter it slightly to reflect the carreer the character has chosen. In some cases it may not need to be altered, on other occasions I may alter it entirely.

Off topic; There are many reasons an experienced player might play the adventurer class that have nothing to do with free trains or additional health. None of which would be harmed by the added limitations to the character roller. For instance; desiring to have your restring application approved before you begin terrorizing the populace.

Croyvern, you can still alter it if you want to.

I think it is due to new/old players not knowing exactly what they want to be and having your description approved a second time means you can change it to flesh out what you have decided to play...or for new players to go for that qrace restring.

Not to mention...when you get your description approved...you get the approval of the gods and with it a little bonus to hp/mana/move. If your description was not approved a second time, you would lose that little bonus.

True that about the bonus. Didn't think of that.
