autorescue, autogive, and autotrust [TOGGLES]

I was thinking about a few things a couple days ago while I was training my character that amassed like 30 crows/scarecrows, where some lowbie warrior came and kept rescuing me to have them aim at him.

So I figured... why don't we introduce some more 'auto' commands to make this game more enjoyable, and stray away from that abuse that I endured.

Autorescue [toggle on or off]: When on, allows others to rescue, regardless of level, size, or race/align.. like the regular rescue.

However, when off, no one can rescue you. They would get something like "they don't seem to want to be rescued, so you back off."

Autogive [toggle on or off]: When on, allows others to give whatever they want to you, regardless of what it is, like it is now.

However, when off, no one can give anything to you. In this case, it would keep people from handing you low level weapons and/or giving you very heavy things to keep you from looting quick enough, or anything similar. This hasn't been abused in awhile, but I've seen it before, and been victim of being given like 12 floating discs and not being able to pick up my weapon from the ground after being disarmed, due to being too much weight on my person.

Really disappointing.

Autotrust [toggle on groups, on cabal, on ALL or off]: When on, allows anyone to cast any spell on you that's defensive / offensive magic in nature. Like haste, sanctuary, bless, heal, cure critical, etc. Of course, when on for groups, all your group mates can cast things on you, if on cabal, all your cabal mates, and if on all, everyone. On group and on Cabal can be used in conjunction.

However when off, it keeps people from casting any spells on you. While not that big of a deal, who here has been fighting someone and having fun, only to have some random battlemage or fun little friend come by and haste you or give you sanc, or bless you (damnit, can't warcry!) and basically ruin any attempts at being 'single handedly honorable' if you know what I mean. Also keeps those annoying bmgs from casting slow on you if you don't want it while in a group, or whatever.

When off, you'd receive a message like "He/she does not trust you casting any spells on him/her."

Anyway, just a few suggestions. Mostly, I want that autorescue toggle like no other.

Heh. I think I know who you are now. I wasn't said warrior, but that is kind of a dirty trick, heh. I don't see a problem with these kinds of autocommands.

Good idea. I hate people giving me stuff. And casting Slow/Haste without asking you. This is a great idea.

Hoo, and i hope you sent a Note to immortal about this said abuse.

If no one complains, this things cannot be punished.

"autogive" has the potential to gimp a thief's counterfeit system.

wouldn't something that looks something like this take care of that problem, Mind?

Or just let plant put stuff into inventory with a high chance of success.

They weren't blind and had the time to spam through 12 "give disc jibber" commands... and yet they didn't just sac your weapon on the ground?

Seriously, I do not see how this is a problem... them giving you 12 discs is far easier to take care of than them just saccing your weapon. "Put all back; g 1." fixes it instantly. I'm having trouble thinking of a situation where I wouldn't prefer this to happen than my weapon being gone, actually. EDIT: Wait, never mind... they likely gave you all the crap before the disarm. Though again... I'd almost rather they spend the time doing that and let me still be doing my things during the fight. It is still very easily fixed by putting it all in your sack.

This was awhile ago, and it wasn't the person I was fighting that gave me the discs. Regardless, I'm not here to whine about what's happened in the past, just putting up a few ideas to fix what may happen in the future.

Re Mindflayer: autogive wouldn't ruin any chance for a thief to 'plant' something onto you. It would overlook that, being that it's not really a 'give' mechanic. But I can see how you thought it would gimp thieves. It shouldn't.

EDIT: And here I started reading something else, thought you meant plant. I would imagine thieves would be the soul exception through autogive, if there's to be any anyhow.
