Reminds me of the mmorpg days. There was this one game with 120 levels. And there were about only 30 or so that made it to level 120. Several thousand player game. yeah. I made it to 76. When you get .01% every 5 kills and 100% is a level up. ![]()
Hey here is an idea.
This thread has gotten so far from my original post/rant
. You guys are silly.
WoW is for people who can't type, have no imagination, and have expendable income. Since I can type, have a good imagination, and have a baby on the way while trying to open a computer store during a recession, I will never play WoW. Also, FL will not return my soul, so I cannot start playing something else that demands my soul.
If Pinn were to be level 80.. We would have less PK in one group.
More people floating at different levels, with different power peaks.
Some stop at 50, some at 60, 70,80..
Right now you have 4-8 pinns on at any one time during my playtime. Divide that by 4 for the different ranks and pk ranges.. you got a whole lot a Rosy!
you could make everything 50 and up one giant pk range, with the increases in strength between each level past 50 being much much smaller than the jumps between 1-50.
i'm not entirely sold on the idea of more levels, but i would like to see some sort of bonus given to characters who've racked up a lot of hours at 50. i think it would encourage people to stick with one character longer rather than rank a character to 50, play him for a week, then delete and make a new one. i'd like to see more longevity. maybe granting slight bonuses to max proficiency with a skill (1% for every 75 hours?), or maybe slight innate bonuses to hit/dam/ac/saves/etc for every so many hours played on a character. give people more incentive to really play a character out to condeath instead of deleting everytime something doesn't go according to plan.
I don't like the idea of more ranks at all.
Why is everyone trying to fix something which ain't broken?
I agree. Adding more ranks means adding more rnaking zones, means adding more high end EQ, means more time for imms to sort through what is worthwhile and what is not. Balancing a new pking tier system. As well as 100+ new titles.
I say 50 ranks is fine, and that if imms are implementing new zones, it will be new areas like brambus works, gear, deso/dischord. Things that test your brains, your combat abilities, and your patience via death/world shift action.
The mud I played before this capped at 50 but you could spend exp. to buy HP, MP, and moves. Thief hp was around 800 on avg at 50. I had a little over 15k. It was kinda silly.
FL is infinitely superior.
Maybe Malch will code it so we gain a rank each time we kill your character Crypt. I am sure you would relish all the attention.
First, don't make this personal or you'll come off sounding like pre-teen. Unless you are, in which case, stop sounding like your age group and step it up a notch.

Just because you don't like them doesn't mean we shouldn't compete. WoW is a multi-billion dollar powerhouse with millions of players. Obviously they're doing some things right. We don't want to attract all the trash, but I think we need to focus on attracting and retaining quality people.
Innovation is the name of the game, since run-of-the-mill MUDs are a dime a dozen. I know it's cliche, but think outside the box some.

I agree with Crypt (shut up...it happens more often than you think).
That comment is definitely "short bus" on a number of levels.
Helps pick up the pieces of HouselessRogue, puts them in a wheelbarrow and wheels it away, whistling
It was a joke you oversensitive ninnies. Calm down.
