Something that happened today gave me this idea. A new character who'd been on for a while didn't know how to join the academy or even what went on inside of it. Maybe we should also give a description of the Academy and an option to join it or not upon character creation? I know when I first started it would've helped me a lot especially since I didn't know about it after joined with a group and getting leveled to 11 quick.

does in a way, though I think the reason people dont go adventurer is because thy come for a pk mud and feel they might be judged as weak for being one.

Well i've never gone adventurer because when they came out after i had a huge handle on the game. I don't think i'd have picked one anyway if I was new. I like the idea of anytime I have a game having set views what i'd like to accomplish in that characters life etc. Much like a young person now adays would go I wanna go to college to be a Dr. lawyer, teacher etc. I don't get rid of said character if I don't meet my goals but I still have everything like that fleshed out. The class while handy I dont think appeals to even new players as much as some of our other ones.
That being said I do like the idea of having an option to join the acdamey or not at creation. for new players it'd be a huge help for older players its one more syntax to type and wouldn't kill us to do for the sake of new players. Good idea!
