Just an idea here: I think locate object has the potential for misuse when that object is a players corpse and should be changed for balancing purposes.
Locate Object
That is how healers find corpses to resurrect. It would gimp them big time.
Thats not true, and healers are lame anyway.
While I agree, I do not think corpses should be locate-able....
It is a long standing tradition to locate a corpse of your enemy who teleported away. You then race there before they can and try to loot.
It is also tradition that once you immediately sense someone Die.. IE: They lose their PK flag. A first instinct is to locate corpse and likely, try to loot them.
I totally disagree with these traditions. I think they are really sh*tty in general and promote bag gameplay and negative OOC feelings.
So I would sign Mali's petition! ![]()
Thanks Mudder, and I'll sign the check on a few beers! Dizz only gets water.
I didn't know Mali was Flordinian for "King's daughter who is soft."

Mali is Flordinian, from the state of Flordinia.
This is where RP should be part of the use of resurection. I love playing healers and the though of abusing this skill is way out of character for the class. Healers need the skill in my honest opinion. And how many times has someone asked a healer to raise them and they had no idea where they fell (i.e. blindness or teleport)? Healers dont suck
While Healers are not the only class that gets locate object (every mage class gets it + bards) I have seen Healers to follow one of the longstanding traditions from above.
Making players corpses nolocate is fine, as if you eat a telepill and don't know where you die... well, that's your fault.
I disagree. If I beat someone enough they have to teleport... The race is on if I can get that locate in.
This has been used/abused since the dawn of time, and in all honesty, its never created that much of a problem, even when its been done to me.
I'd say leave it as is.
