Arena - Update

The arena was taken out for player battles due to abuse/bugs from what I remember...I think this would be a HUGELY good thing to bring back into the game, especially with the influx of new players we're trying to drive via voting, Arena has a lot of benefits for them.

I think it would also be awesome from a RP pov, how about Gladiator fights on a fri or sat evening - organised odds and betting etc... I'd be totally up for watching that, and maybe competing if I got a character who was right for it!

what would be cool is if they do bring it back (which I am all for) is have a betting system. Two people come in and then if anyone are around they can place bets. Kind of like boxing or maybe wrestling and stuff like that have like a tier level.

Player2 (8:49:36pm): Sure, how?

Player1 (8:50:07pm): We'll fight in the arena. I'll have my buddy, Player3, bet a ton of gold on me, and you purposely lose the fight. Then we'll do it again so that I fight him and you can bet, then one last time so I can be able to bet as well.

That night...you were drunk...we had a huggle party...it was like you gave me your phone number, but it was your sn instead. Oddest thing.

The sad thing is I actually have gotten girls' screen names at parties before. I find they part with their SN a lot easier than their number, and it isn't quite as forward.

I loved the arena, and would love to see it back up and running.

As for betting, rather than have a 'set' system in place, you could have someone roleplaying as a bet-taker-person (whatever they're called!) and it would be very interesting. Especially with 'IG' cheats, like players taking dives, just like in boxing.

And just the thought of things that could be like I would have loved to see a giant Illendriel vs Triathix fight in the arena for everyone to watch.

So BUMPing this, as it got a touch sidetracked, what are the chances of us getting the arena back for player combat? I was thinking it could be something that might fit in with Malch's idea of having weekly set times for an event..maybe Gladiator matches overseen by an IMM once a month or so?
