Mobs with weapons

For I long time now I always wondered why mobs when disarmed dont re-wield their weapons when they grab them. If the mob is not dirted and grabs their weapon or shield I think they should be able to rewield it as well. What do you guys think?

I've always wondered how they parry if you disarm their weapon.

or if you bash them they cast IMMEDIATLY after

Mobs casting is not affected by silence, blasphemy, frenzy, or anything else that would stop a pc from casting. Mobs are also not affected by lag skills of any kind. This is a balance issue, as casting mobs would be way to easy to kill if they were.

Actually blasphemy prevents communing mobs from communing.

Mob casters/communers ARE affected by silence/blasphemy respectively (I've tested this extensively... sorry PC, but you're wrong). They are not affected by lag skills except in that they cannot flee while lagged.

Also, Mob spells go through Mana shield, most of them anyway.

So silence does work now? Guess I'll shut my mouth then.

You sure on that? I know of a number that do, but they aren't types that are meant to be blocked by mana shield anyways (psi powers, for instance).

I'm sure. Me and my exp hole are sure I died to a fireball with mana shield on.

Hm... in my several invokers over the years, I've never seen that happen. Did you log/bug it? I'm fairly sure that's not supposed to happen.

Yeah, I've had several invokers too and most mob spells were stopped. Apart from psi spells.

Yes. Mana shield blocks magic. Unless that certain magic is your vuln...

If you were a feral, mana shield would not block fire damage.

Silence/Blasphemy/etc. DOES prevent mobs from casting/communing.

There are certain mobs that do not commune/cast the spell just "happens." Thus, there is no way to prevent them from doing their thing. it's really easy to know which ones are impossible to stop.

The mobs that "utter the words fsdfsgvSV" can be silenced. The mobs that "Close their eyes in concentration" can be blasphemied. If they do neither, they are impervious.

That vuln caveat is super devastating...I remember being sure I had the perfect class/race/cabal combo only to have my birthday candles blown out...sad day. I think that mobs should not rewield a disarmed weapon because it just makes it that much easier to disarm and pick it up after they lag themselves or they get blinded. I think that the disarm is perfect the way it is. You have one chance to disarm and get the weapon without them picking it back up and you having to kill them. Half the time when I am trying to take a mob's weapon, I'm not entirely sure I could kill the mob without it becoming a 20 tick ordeal. Time it right or get ready for a fight to the death.

Feral can't be invokers, so that wouldn't explain it... his mana shield having dropped immediately before the fireball and without being noticed would, though, which is why logs of things like that are good to have.

Pali, that was an example. Not to explain his fireball problem. Just why in some instances mana shield does not protect you. Sheesh. Lol.

Ferals can't be invokers? I also recall ferals not being able to be lawful. Or faeries being berserkers.

Thinking back on it, this is what happend with mana shield. Mahn-Tor is an old mob from the shell. Silenced; he still casts, also when he casts it seems to bypass mana shield.

Pali and Mudder are entirely correct.
