Envenom

Perhaps allow ninjas and thieves to envenom potions and maybe herbs? They are ingested and it would be nifty, I think.

Do you mind if I ask for what purpose? To put vials with poison on the victem?

I love the idea. Rogues should have interesting, seedy ways to pull off stuff like that.

And maybe put some not-so-nice effects on them.

For example, if you envenom some herbs, when your target lights up, they get the asphyxiation effect. After all, they just smoked a high-potency poison right into their lungs.

Maybe have the envenom potion thing add a random spell to the potion, so that it could be hurtful or helpful - because you never know what mixing chemicals like that is going to get you.

Granted, I think some things should be a safe haven. Drugs bought from the dealer in Miruvhor, and potions bought from shopkeeps should be safe. Maybe have them labelled, and give message that says, "This potion was made by a professional. You can't envenom this." or "These drugs were cut by the Cartel. Don't tamper with them."

I like that, Evangelion. I think that would be good.

I think just being able to give someone an item that is poisoned to someone without being seen doing it would be cool enough. Let thieves have a sneak effect when giving items, that way there wouldnt be so many people getting knocked out.

I think that if this is to be put into effect, there should be absolutely no safe-haven. It doesnt make sense to say that a professional made it and it can not be poisoned. Why cant I take that jug off of you, pour some rat poison into it, and put it back into your satchel?

Yeah sure, beef up thieves even more.

The thought may be that because it is professionally made that it could contain some kind of seal. That being said, like most food and medication, if the seal is broken, something may be wrong. Therefore, you may be able to pour some rat poison in it, but you might see a modification to the short description of "professional" made potions that have their seal broken.

It has some merit. I certainly like the idea of giving players some ability on this area. The idea of master crafting when skill is high enough is appealing. A "freshness guranteed" seal also makes me smile.

Likewise the master thief might be able open that bottle with minimal damage to the seal, only being noticed some of the time (though this may require 100+ skill). I'm sure you get the picture.

Because THIS is what would make them unstoppable. I am not saying they should get auto-mastery of anything or a bonus to anything, just a more expansive use of a skill that is very narrow currently.

eh. I like envenom. You can envenom a water pack and drink it when you need to or hand it to a character when they're sleeping so they can drink it and get poisoned. You could always envenom daggers as well that would cause poison on a target and you get the autothrow by using murder or having them flee with a doublesheath spot open. I could see Ninjas getting this by going Lotus Scourge or even if Thieves had the option of going Tricks or Traps and it'd be in the Tricks category as well as other selectable skills it'd be pretty nifty. As is though it'd add FAR too much to a class that's already really fine.

How would it do that much? It'd be basically the exact same thing a thief can do to your water barrel he can do to your translucent potion.

Yeah they are talking about other affects too. Like herbs causing affixate and other stuff.

Any class that can take your eq without pking you is BS in my opinion.

Lotus Scourge is what needs to be changed, not envenom.

HA, HA, HA. Have you even used the skill or is this like your take on berserkers - all theory based?

Maybe all these people here have based their posts on theories?

Well, having read through that thread you just posted, it seems to have two camps:

  1. People who have admittedly never played Lotus Scourge and say that it sucks

  2. People who HAVE played Lotus Scourge and think it is awesome.

Seeing as how only one of these camps has any experience in it...

And two out of the three IMMs in that thread said that lotus scourge doesn't suck. To me, that says you're wrong.

It's kind of like saying assassinate sucks.

"Well, no one ever told me I had to practice study!"
