Yes, if you want to remove a cursed weapon/shield, just put on two talismans. If that is not enough get two glass rings (Somewhere east of Miruvhor, thats all I will say, ask around IG if your not sure)
That will make even the strongest ogres drop their weapons.
Though make sure you uncurse the talismans first.
EDIT: Hell, glass rings are no secret. The weak dockhand has them in the Island of Exile, in the Dragon sea east of Miruvhor, just go northeast until you get there.

Nah, the answer's yes. I just was kind of pushing the "look to experience" ideal. 
Actually I prefer Oaken Rings because they drop strength further I believe and I've worn two demon talismans and two glass rings before and still had the strength to hold up my weapons but switching one of the glass rings with an oaken ring I dropped them right away.
yeah oak rings are the goodies. Also sometimes removing that tit fullplate helps. That thing gives quite a bit of STR and people forget about it

Sorry mate. On the up side this is going to save me alot of gold on disarm insurance. Despite what my sig says I do know about the glass rings, and the oaken ones. I had a good run as a halfling thief. of course, planting those bad boys never made my opponent drop his weapon as I pryed that as well.
