Pets Looting From Corpses

I think pets at least need to have the number of things that they can carry dropped significantly. I also believe that they should not be able to loot corpses, but their owner should have to get things themselves and then give them to their pets. It makes it far too easy for rangers and necros to chump-full-loot your corpse with no work at all. Anyone else agree?

Yes.

No, because by the time you get back to your corpse from me killing you, you'll be full looted anyways assuming I actually full looted you. I've full looted someone about 12 rooms away from their corpse without them getting a thing, then I've been lagging horribly and they got their things from about 30 rooms away when I planned on taking a couple things that they probably shouldn't have had at their levels.

Perks of being the said few classes or getting the scroll to do the same. Its always been this way and I think its fine.

The only change I'd suggest is make the scroll that lets it happen into a potion so melee's can do it too. After all, they need the equipment far more than the mages - and it sucks when you can't get it all off their corpse before they run back.

Maybe not a potion, but rather, an item that any class can use.

If it aint broke don't fix it.

Most melee classes...(most) have a high enough strength where they don't need to bother. A quick 'g all corpse ; put all back ; g all corpse' usually is suffices.

Most melees that have that high a strength will have very low dex, AKA, won't be able to hold many items at all. If the corpse is holding 10 rares, chances are the warrior won't be able to take most of the stuff in the corpse if you go that route.

Seems like somebody just got killed by a ranger and FU11-100t3D!

I like them as is. As L-A said, its a perk of those who are able enough to do so. I also agree that perhaps an item that allows anyone to utilize it wouldn't be bad. Although, I would want it as about as hard to get as it is now, to keep it out of the hands of the 30-something sitters.

?? Hard to get? Cough - how?

It's not supposed to be hard to full loot. If you just got full-looted, that doesn't mean there's anything wrong.

If it were made into a potion or a usable item, it should probably become rare. Even with a low dex and you grab 10 rares from their corpse, it's not hard to see what's in your inventory and drop what you don't need and sacrifice it before they get to their corpse. Unless you die a room away from your corpse, chances are the only classes able to full loot would be Necromancers and Rangers unless someone already has their golem summoned. Even if the number of items held were reduced, Necro's have 3 Zombies and 2 Golems, which would full loot you no matter what. Rangers have 2 pets that can grab everything (3 if they're a Beastmaster), and they'd still most likely be able to grab everything. It wouldn't do much to change it but hinder other people who try to get a full loot by using the one scroll. In which case you'd see an even bigger influx of most likely Rangers, which would only lead to more people complaining over something as minute change as this.

I remember on a dk when I wanted to full loot a guy so badly, so I ordered the warlock to get all corpse. But then the charmie effect went out, so it dropped everything on the ground as my beated foe walked in. He got everything back, and I ended up with nothing

If you get killed by a lock, necro, dk, or any class that can use scrolls your a noob anyways.

Sorry, but what's a lock?

Another plus side of someone using a charmie to full loot you, and I've taken advantage of this a large number of times, is that you (if you're a summon class) can find them, summon the pet with your items, and kill it before they get to you. It's like they were just being nice and holding your things for you!

LMAO...mobile lockers. I love it.

How about lowering the level on that item, so they can't grab rares off the corpse? I know this doesn't affect necros/rangers, but it would take care of anyone else who can use it.
