Some new eq idea.

You know how we have the red dragon, the mithril golems, the chasm dragon, ect ect. You notie they are all geared towards re equiping the melee? How about some rank 30, good/evil/neut mage eq? Some stuff that gives +10 hp each, mabey -1 wis for evil mages and -1 int for goods or something? Then add some eq to counteract it, like the dreamseeking cloaks for the dragon eq, ect ect.

Every try IDing brass/silver armor?

ohhhhhh, this is a neat thread!

What about some glowing backpacks/containers

You can actually get non-rares that are better than many rares out there for mages.

I don't like this cause,

  1. They already have good reequipping mobs.

  2. All mages have spells with which they can pk with.

  3. Melees rely on weapons to pk with, unless your a monk, then it depends on what hitroll you can muster.

I didnt know there was so much? At low ranks, all I see is a mish-mash of random equipments on mages, no real method or starter mob suit. Like a rank 30, full red dragon suit or mithril suit, I was thinking a full sorcery suit. Mages dont need that hit roll or dam roll, was just a setup idea:)

Part of why you see a mish mesh at low ranks is because mages aren't as eq-dependant so players usually don't focus on getting a decent suit as much as a melee might. There are, however, a good number of places to get full C/C-type suits starting at 20 and going to 40. The problem is that you might need a melee with you to help kill off some of the things.

There are even specific suits that all have the same name (like red dragon, mithril, etc).

Two places off the top of my head with good lowbie C/C stuff are Caverns and Mahn-tor

Seriously.

I just pinned a mage-type, and hit eq...

And realized I was still wearing not one, but two apprentice cloaks.

It was amusing.

I don't think the Imms will mind this much, but just in case anyone was wondering, he's the ID file on the apprentice cloak...

Object 'cloak apprentice' is type armor, material cloth.

Extra flags: meltdrop.

Weight is 4, value is 72, level is 0.

Armor class is 1 pierce, 1 bash, 1 slash, and 0 vs. magic.

I've done that in the past on two of my characters, but it never lasts long. Way too easy to not care about EQ as a mage to end up at 50 with at least one thing from the newbie arena. Then again, one of the two was a melee, thankfully I didn't tank too often.

I think its wrong for mage to focus in HP's at low ranks,.

I normaly focus on Hitroll so i can learn my weapon faster.

And on AC. The thing that will stop mobs from hurting me.

Since my mages dont PK pre 42. They always do well.

You still learn your weapon when not hitting/missing with your attacks. I wouldn't be surprised if you get a slightly faster learning process by not hitting

It is slower.

How about - no. We already have a situation where most players agree melee's are not on even footing with C/Cs at lvl 50. Adding easier ways for C/Cs to get hp is just going to make it worse.

There are some easy to get non-rare ho/mana items for C/Cs - I don't think we need any more.

If anything, add +hit eq options for evils instead of all +dam. As it stands a neutral/good melee has a lot easier time getting hitroll via mithril/chasm dragon than an evil who has accesss to tainted/red dragon. I know some ways around it, but it still takes time and has risks..

Why does it seem like everyone thinks im wanting to boost mages? Making a normal looking suit that is mage worthy gives an option to your wardrobe. And a matching 5 piece set would give lets say 25 hp in total at 5 hp a piece. Anyways, beating a dead horse with this one, hehe, I withdraw the need to look organized b4 rank 30:)

I hate to repeat but the suit already exists. Look in the storm giant caverns.
