Learning from your Mistakes

How about we bring back Learning from your mistakes when learning %'s

You fail or miss and you have a chance of getting 1-3 % improvement. I forget why this was taken out. But I know i loved see it.

Training system was changed is why. You now have progress, before you just had % chance of learning based on use, then a %chance of learning from mistakes and a % chance of gaining 1-3. I liked the old system better, but the new one is more consistant.

I don't recall ever getting 3% from learning from my mistakes... it was always 1%, though sometimes I'd get it twice in a round.

Really? Learning from mistakes was always 3% for me.

Not in 1.0 it wasn't. Maybe it was altered for some part of 2.0 that I missed, but in 1.0 you just had a better chance of the skill going up through failure than through success, not up more than one point at a time.

You still learn MORE from mistakes now. Always have. It's just now, instead of getting 1-3 prof points you get more progress points.

In 1.0, if it said "You learn from your mistakes, and your skill improves", the skill would increase by 1-3%.

He's right.

I NEVER had it happen where it was more than 1%.

Now your just dating yourself. We now know when you joined.

What, was it just very early 1.0 where it went up 1-3%?

Id have to say yes.

Thats when I joined, it was like that for (youd have to ask inscribed) 1yr? maybe 7 months? I remember 3 months of it.

It was like that up until the training revamp.

Bards songs still are like that.

Bards songs still are like that.

Probably overlooked cause they were such a comic relief class.

Probably overlooked cause they were such a comic relief class.

Probably overlooked because its not worth the time to change.

It would be different if other classes had songs but oh well. Would be funny for Blade masters to have to sing stances, or rangers have to do a rain dance to make a storm.

Yeah, imagine Corinkorth or any Ogre Ranger singing and dancing to make a storm come. That's a whole lot of ugly and jiggling going on that I really don't want to see.

Yeah, 1.0 and possibly early 2.0 was like that because I don't believe there was a change to training until shortly after 2.0 because people not liking the consistancy of it. I honestly liked it because of the learning from mistakes was usually around 3% for me making disarm and the likes VERY easy to train compared to how it is now for me. Though some other skills that never really moved from 95%< were more of a bitch than it is now too. So it's kind of iffy on which method I liked better. Didn't realize Bard Songs were like that, perhaps Viri forgot to include them because like a lot of people, Bards just don't matter.
