openshop

skill - openshop or barter

puts all your items not in a backpack on sale for a multiplier you set dependant on level.

for example.

you have a level 50, level 20, and level 35 item in your inventory.

you type "barter 1000" sells your items

1 - 50000g

2 - 20000g

3 - 35000g

without you doing a thing.

Good for rping a shop or something. Could be a specially granted skill to a cabal or an imm granted skill. Very easy to code in.

only problem I see with the whole merchant thing is you can earn gold faster just by slaying mobs...Always thought it was funny to buy something for say 100,000 then spend 20 min farming up the gold again. Though I geuss selling rare/unique items brings with it a lot less tedium.

Or better yet, on one character, I even went so far as to just kill and take if I didnt like the price. Though Rp doesnt always permit such behavior its still an option for most the playerbase.

I recall it being talked about, but then Auction was put in as a channel so you could sell things that were rare. Still a nifty idea, maybe something that could be given as a skill to a different section of Syndicate.

I have never seen anyone use the auction channel, I remember using it once but no one replied to me

I thought about using it recently with a character, but then I figured that it would be pointless because the people purchasing would more than likely go in for a cheap kill rather than anything else. I recall seeing it used a little bit when it first was implemented, but I've never seen it once since, probably because people abused it as a way to PK and figured it was just easier to use tells instead. Tells, killing people since 2000.

Meh all those 100Ks add up eventually. You think meh, gold when you have 1 million.. When you have 10-15 its power, its REAL power. Want to see the whole player base head after a bounty for someone you hate? Stick one and a half mill on their head, it will roll. Shortly.
