Dragon Slayer > Monks

Alriught, now just thinking about this monk business with the whole embodiment of the dragon charade. How much of a good idea would it be if we could use dragon slayer on monks in dragon stance? I mean, they embody the form of a dragon taking on some of the dragons abilities, (special little affect the stance now has) so why the hell dont we use the dragon slayer on them?

I agree 999999999999%x999999. stupid *** monks, i hate em! DIE!

The Monk doesn't actually 'become' a dragon, he/she simply enters a the dragon stance. I won't try and sound as if I know what I'm talking about because my knowledge of kung fu is pretty poor, but it's similar just as how some styles of kung fu such as 'eagle claw', the 'crane' and 'dragon ' work.

The monk (in FL) when entering their stances, take on the abilities of whatever stance they enter, but it's not any sort of magical transformation as far as I'm aware, simply a state of mind and selection of techniques.

Dey

body enlarges as he takes the image of a dragon

That doesn't suggest that the Monk transforms into a Dragon. I'm not saying he doesn't, just that there is nothing to suggest he/she does.

DRAGON STANCE

Syntax: dragon

The dragon stance (notice it says it's a 'stance' not a transformation) symbolizes (symbolises, doesn't transform into) the magnificence and longevity of the dragon.

Filled with the spirit (filled with it's spirit, as a result of a change of mindset maybe) of the dragon, the monk will increase in size, and

embody the health (this doesn't suggest it becomes a dragon, just that the stance allows him to concentrate and on making himself healither, perhaps to do with concentrating chi energy) of the dragon. The monk can also disarm easier while in

the dragon stance (again, just a stance). Most equipment hinders the growth of the monk. To be

as a dragon (notice it says be AS a dragon, and not be a dragon), a monk must first empower their offenses.

That doesn't suggest the Monk transforms INTO a dragon, rather the Monk assumes a stance that symbolises the Dragon, changing the Monks' mindset and bodily functions to mimic that of a Dragon. Though in real life, a stance and mindset alone wouldn't make someone healthier and bigger, this is FL, and it could be easily as a result of channeling magical energy into the stance, or the like.

You shouldn't be able to 'use' the dragon slayer on a monk in dragon stance simply because the monk embodies some of the traits of a dragon.

Dey

Not to mention that one shot from a dragon slayer (use) would prolly kill the monk outright, or do way more damage than is balanced.

Monks mentally embody the stance. They act and feel physically and mentally as the 'dragon', 'drunk'. 'horse', 'monkey', etcetera. Nothing magical about it. This also explains why monks can become psionicists.

I agree with exactly what you said apart from the bit in bold, for this reason:

Someone executes "strike of the phantom dragon".

A phantasmal dragon rears its head and breaths.

** Someone's phantom dragon *** DEMOLISHES *** you!**

The world dims with pain as someone buries his fingers in your torso.

Someone's dragon claw *** OBLITERATES *** you!

That's either some sort of crazy metaphor for crippling blow the Monk does, or he's somehow exerting some mental energy in order to summon the dragon to perform this blow. If it's the latter, then you could argue that this 'mental exertion' is magical.

Still doesn't mean the Monk becomes a Dragon though. It's just an embodiment of physical and mental aspects of whatever creature's stance they assume, like you say.

Dey

Lol good stuff guys, just thought it would offer a bit of amusement

Let's just use the mental image of a dragon slayer on them then.

That could be a psion spell.

You guys are crazy. Try playing a monk. You will not like it.

Maybe one out of 50 rounds you will land that dragon chakera in a pk. That's with mastered anats, mind you.

Im no bloody suprised. I seen that <<>> and >><< unsanced people. Its not a funny little strike, ESPECIALLY WITH THE STANCES NEW ABILITY!
