Quest Applications

Ive been reading the forums and people always bitch about being done over by quest apps in the 30's. This being an area where we RECOMMEND new players start to LEARN the game we arent really giving them much chance.

I think we really should be putting PK restrictions on them. If they are going for QCLASS/RACE then they definately know what they are doing in PK (Dey excluded) and IMHO should be put onto a pk restriction. It jsut seems practicle, wouldnt any other character who rolled up and just repeatedly cleared their PK range at 30 be warned? Isnt an app char exactly the same?

Just some food for thought.

It's the RP that needs to be enforced, not the PK. Unless someone's RP dictates ruthless, numerous killings, then random PKs should be severely punished.

If someone has RP'd a character that is fixated on death, destruction, or some other killing-based RP, and has the actual RP (to include emotes, yells, etc. etc.) then I think lots of PK is fine (help multi still applying of course)

Well, having tried three or four times for applications myself, I'm just going to say that you tend to go a little stir crazy and get attacked frequently yourself.

Like any other point in PK, I say, kill them before they can kill you. And do it in the name of your GOD!

Besides, it's not like we can rank. We can help other people rank, but we don't always want to do that since it leaves us vulnerable at times.

I might know your character, but I hope I dont for my sake and for yours. I dont think there should be any pk restrictions. PK is part of this game. Depending on the qclass app, it could easily be within someones rp to just kill everyone that opposes their god/ kill all goods/kill all bads/ kill certain races/ kill someone because they are not respecting you. You can go on with all kinds of things, it would be my opinion that almost every character anyone makes should have at least that much of a reason behind killing someone. Even if they dont, they can just have the mindless pker rp, and still be completely justified. I would think that it would be the people that make up some crazy back story and rp it right to be considered for the app.

Lol dont miss my point. This is not about my ability I assure you, I can handle PK on any level. Was merely musing about the people who are new and are told to learn at that rank being completely annihilated.

Oh. I remember those days! Didn't work out so well for me.

Part of the problem is that new people aren't taking the easily survivable combos and instead are looking at the badass ones, and a new player behind a drow dk will definitely die a lot around 30. If they were smart and were playing something like a cleric or healer, they'd have far less reason to be frustrated.

And more reason to be bored

I've started with the typical drow dk as well.

Hey, I started with an elf invoker, how do you think my first two weeks here went? ^_~ But after that, the dwarf healer thing worked quite well for learning.

Ninja's and Thieves. Thats how to learn!

of course, a lot of new people are... well... new. So they probably have no idea what combo is best to start and learn with.

Yah, my first guy was an illithid psi...I had a few problems.

Hehe... I miss throwing sacks at people...

Mine was a werebeast zerker.

My first combo was a Fire Giant Zerker in 2001 or 2002. I was hacking away having a great time, when I was summoned, put to sleep, maled up, gang killed by three folks then a necro animated my corpse and made it dance in front of me, telling me how magic ruled. Quite an awakening!

Blah the poker

My first experience was......well.....how can I say this in a PG manner? I log my human bard (1.0 bard that is. I read up and thought they had some sort of pk shield. Guess I didn't read well enough) only to have some annoying dwarf sitting in CC poking me everytime I walked by. I mean SHEESH! Pk me or something but stop with the poking.

Heh, Justice storm zerk was my first and not only did I die a lot I ended up getting him kicked out due to not knowing how to control rage.

I started with a human druid, yearning deaths in the tombs literally ten rooms from the forest cos I didn't know how to get out, yearning death in solace because again I got lost in the palace + a bunch of other yearning deaths. Then, I got druid gate and thought I'd be fine, oh boy was I wrong....
