i doubt this scenario man, with a shamana a halfling BLM for these reasons: assuming he does insom you from 2+ areas away, assuming you the BLM is not a n00b. he runs to a pretty place, you say you know where he goes, even if true let's say he gets up on you before you sleep, how many mals is he hitting anyway? and then even consider that while he's trying he's taking serious damage each time, all the while if the halfling BLM is feeling lucky why not mal the shaman? the halfling is only losing like 10-20 mana per hour, why not try to drain the shaman? and this is even assuming the shaman really has some cojones, man. i could feel ok about sleeping 3 hours while a shaman is near as a halfling and getting a bunch of fail messages and wake up. did a couple of BLM basic stances fall? oh well, maybe he loses, like i said i dont feel sorry for a BLM.
they should be a qclass or not a class anymore and buff the traditional melee's. maybe BLM's are the wave of the future. fine, but i think you could buff the other melee's even w/o giving them stuff like drain and somehow restore melee prowess. or i dont know the traditional melee's rely on lag and sometimes special moves. mundane moves. so idk but if you keep BLMs why in the h e l l play another melee.
edit: i know certain berzerk paths drop protective shield on iniation supposedly and focused bash can go through prot shield in theory, but these items certainly hasnt spurned anyone to play a dominating non-blade melee. why rely on these items when a blade can drain an opponent outright.
