Anybody ever want ranger to be like the dnd ranger with cool favored enemies, tracking etc. and make a conjurer for the pet making abilities/magic stuff?

So just make a ranger and dont train beast call.
DND Ranger
DND wizard-specialization conjurer

My old D&D character that was the basis for my first char was a magic user-fighter, which is why I chose ranger, thinking it would be something like the D&D ranger. I found out pretty quickly it is principally melee. The D&D version would have balance issues. On the other hand, a DK has a lot of spells, and a druid has a lot of melee capability, so I would say those cover some of the territory you're talking about.
Well I just think it would be cool to have ranger either pick archery or stalker path. No beasts but add more spells. Not just invoker hybred spells, but maybe some hail or arrows etc. Then a conjurer could be created in place. I know it wont happen, I was just asking if anyone ever ponders about certain dnd classes (drool)

I see druids covering the forested magic-using type...
I love FL but a dnd based mud would kill. Updated currently. there wouldnt be balance issues, because there is so many unbalanced classes already ![]()
The balance is game-wide. It's all an intricate web. There's always one class that dominates an other, and is dominated by a completely different class. I haven't been around long enough to figure out more than the obvious ones.

So, you're recommending that the IMMs radically change all of what makes FL unique into something else? Somehow, I don't support this idea/suggestion.
Except Ninjas. Those own everyone.

Well, not everyone.
I didnt mean to say everything should be redone. I was just more tossing out for discussion, the idea that the ranger should be more dnd like and a conjurer class should be created. Just an idea/suggestion. I certainly didnt mean to have people accusing me of wanting to change the entire mud.
I believe rangers are fine as they are. I don't think we need to add any classes, rather add on to the classes that we already have, i.e. add more selectable paths for classes, perhaps some new skills.
P.S. You will have to give a little more information on ideas and suggestions when you make them. Give skill/spell idea's, help files, and things of this nature. If you just throw an idea out there without any time spent on it but a solitary thought people will just run it over. Have something to back the idea up. Just for future reference.
if you take away a rangers pets it is like taking parry from a warrior lol.
There is only one real enemy of Ninjas...that's one, one enemy! AH AH AH AH!

Well' date=' not [i']everyone.

I'd say it's more like taking fourth attack and riposte. ^_~ Regardless, you're quite right. FL rangers are defined by their pets.
Speaking of that, whatever happened to the align-based pets? Do they still have those?
