Hrm

This is probably going to sound like I've gone off the deep end....

But why don't warriors get a hand to hand spec?

I know its generally the monk thing.... but one would think the option should be open for them too, if they wished it, some might prefer a brawler route or something akin to it after all.

Sorry. Wild idea.

On a similar note, why not give them Bash/Trip mastery options. That would be cool.

there's already a bash specialty option for warriors, which is far better than a mastery in terms of just being over %100 a la mastery.

Hmm...I don't recall one for bash, just one for Mace w/ a name similar to such. However, I don't think +% to it is all it would entail, but perhaps a chance to push through Prot. Shield (1% chance or something nil, but random enough to be cool).

shakes head There's no point in doing that. If I'm fighting a cleric who's got prot shield up as a warrior, it's pure idiocy to bash even if I have a 10% chance for it to go through, because those three rounds I'm lagged the 90% of other times will get me killed. If you're going to suggest an improvement to bash, it should actually improve it and make it worthwhile to use in situations it wasn't before, not just help idiots who don't know to do more than spam bash during every fight.

EDIT: To be slightly more constructive, perhaps make it so that those who take bash mastery have bash ALWAYS go through prot shield, but have only, say, half or a third of the lag of the normal bash. Not really advocating this, but IMO it'd be a better change.

bash and trip at 110% wouldn't be that much more useful. and prot shield would still stop it. and even if it worked 10% of the time, you'd still be lagging yourself to death while being spelled all to hell.

and thats if they dont dodge it.

It was a random idea, I haven't had a serious character in ages. I am just saying it would be neat to have it. I forget, but does Prot. Shield stop Bash damage too? I think it does. That could be the perk, it would stop the impact of smacking them, but not the physical blow itself. Or it could add a new action on the Bash, such as a sucker punch or stomp or something, if it did get through. Trip could be a kick for extra damage, etc. Just a thought. I am sure PKers would have more insightful input.

Yes, prot shield stops bash damage as well... and I don't really see a point to making bashes do damage through it. Warriors already have kick for that. Personally, I don't feel that warriors really need a great deal of boosting... they're meant to be insanely strong when decked, fodder when naked, and possible to work well with while in middle-ground eq assuming good tactics and weapon choices, and I think they currently are doing well at all this.

I wouldn't know, I simply don't PK. Hehe.
