New Warrior Skill

Counterattack

Selectable (any activated skill, bash/trip/disarm/shielddisarm/ect...)

When a warrior ripostes an attack there is a chance he will execute whatever manuever is tied into his counterattack. Warrior loses the ability to activate chosen skill manually while in counterattacking stance.

Clarified for the immediate 'OMFG TOO POWERFUL.'

The skill would have a maximum chance to activate of about 10-15%.

The skill would be able to active a maximum of once every 2 battle rounds.

Riposte occurs WAY too often for something like this. It would be overpowered in the extreme.

I have two words to say...hell no.

Your thinking about it wrong.

A chance to occur, the skill would obviously need to be limited.

Action could occur once per round or once per two rounds, have a 10% chance of activating each riposte...

think outside the box

There are already abilities similar to this in game, albeit not centered around Riposte.

Think outside the box.

Maybe like a five percent chance for it to occur would be alright.

There's already skills.. similiar to technically everything, this increases the strategy and selectability of a warrior, possibly penalizing him for the wrong choice.

Seems outside of the box to me.

There is no skill available to a warrior that is similar to assassinate, or hellstream.

Yes there is, ever see a Ogre Berzerker wearing a fire weapon or two go after an unprepared feral? Two rounds at most.

Uh... two things.

First of all, a feral ranger in watcher will destroy said ogre berserker.

Second of all, a berserker is not the same thing as a warrior...

What if you don't have a box?

I live in a cardboard box...does that count? I often sit outside to think too...

****. You mean you have a box big enough to fit in all at one time! DAMN. Talk about luxury. Im lucky if only one half of me sticks outside.

At least you have a box. I have to crawl the streets with no clothes, no food or no money, pleading to the public to give me coins in exchange for me doing mundane acts of stupidity like kissing beggars and licking the back hair of stray rabid dogs. I feed from sucking up puddles in the street and eating bits of my own flesh.

Well, actually, I don't have to do that.

I sure enjoy doing it though.

I like the idea as long as it doesn't work too often. I can see what you mean by has another chance two rounds after it goes off, that doesn't mean it will go off immediately.

Also Evangelion, you are starting to remind me of some other people here who know it all. You said a warrior is not the same as a berserker but a post or two before that you brought up hellstream and assassinate into a warrior post. Obviously they are not the same. And perhaps there is not skills like assassinate and hellstream but there sure is spells exactly like them.

Berserkers generally fall to other melee classes.

Warriors are THE melee class - and obviously dominate in this regard.

Warriors don't need hellstream because if they putting 5 - 8 MUTILATES/LACERATES a round into you (even maims will do it) you will be feeling the pain. Lots of it. Weapon choice and eq allows you do to this - meaning you just have to balance with saves to give some kind of spell resistance and you have a powerful class.

I think the problem most warriors have if they they try to use 2 types of weapons across the whole playerbase (some try to use only staff). Even with 6 rare slots warriors can't be ready with saves/full compliment of weapons for all other classes. When warriors are prepared and ready though they are VERY hard to fight.
