'consider' update

how about when monks and blademasters con a mob, it tells them what the crap it is. it would make training anatomies a tad easier if you could tell which type it is.

thoughts?

Good idea, but why limit it to just monks and blademasters? Anyone looking to hit a vuln could use it, imo.

something like this:

con mob X

Why don't you just try to kill a god?!

A Mob X greets you warmly.

A mob X is an elf.

and i just thought to limit it to those classes who use anatomies. but it would help all, though.

maybe when they have enough anatomy, it would be logical they could see what kind it is. but that wouldn't be very helpful.

give them analuze would give them a clue...

It would make sense to give it to classes that use anatomies, as with that skill they are studying said race to find weaknesses and knowledge about them. They're obviously able to discern between the races.

I like it.

Dey

something less than analyze, but would let them know what type it is. that's why i thought to add it to consider rather than giving them something else.

Guild guards.

How about just:

Why don't you just try to kill a god?!

This small elf greets you warmly.

(In more technical terms...)

sprintf(buf, "This %s %s greets you warmly.\n\r", mob->size, mob->pc_race);

send_to_char(ch, buf);

(Or something like that...It's been a while...)

I like that idea. It would need some tweaking, though...

"This large flying looks very disinterested."

Flying isn't a race.

Yea...but he's too lazy to think about what race is what anatomy section. hehe.

I mean, if you like, see: This small ocelot, or dog, or cat, how would you know what anatomy it was? Especially when some dogs/cats are actually 'unique'.

I think that when editting a mob in OLC, you have to pick a base race. So I don't think you could pick "small ocelot" as a race, even if it were what it was in the descs.

Uhh.

Ocelot is a race. Dragon is a race. Bird is a race. There are several more, which I don't care to mention in proving my point. Size coupled with actually race would = small ocelot, if you picked: small size, ocelot race. Just the races available to the playerbase aren't the only races.

... hah.

Also, dragon falls under 'flying', Ocelot under 'beast', and other races fall under a different category. Hence my asking how would you know 'a small ocelot' was indeed 'a small beast'?

I hope that clears it up. Just a tad. So people don't argue with how I portray things.

There are, however, only a set number of races coded in. Each race corresponds to an anatomy. Select one not on the list and it becomes unique.

If you want the list, I can provide it.

Or people could figure things out for themselves.

I think its too far to just say what anatomy category they are...but saying what race they are...you still have to "figure" it out, but you don't have to fight it for a while and see if you learn anything.

Ah, I thought we were just talking about anatomy categories. I would definately like to see the race instead of anatomy category.
