I think there should be some kind of lag after challenges, or clear your command buffer. I've seen at least 6 occasions of people getting killed after challenges that were to the stun, because the winner was spamming some attack.
Post-challenge lag
Yeah ive done it and had it done to me and its not the nicest of feelings. Perhaps have it that to kill one of the challengers you must type murder, that way spammed hell stream, charges, paths wouldnt do anything once victim has been stunned.
Don't spam yourself.
(Sorry someone had to say it.)
Well... obviously that would help. Doesn't mean that people don't get all spammy especially when the challenge is really close. Both chars are at awful, sometimes you just gotta stack a bunch of paths or hellstreams.
Then do this, "co path" or "c hellstream". If you are in combat with them, you don't have to target it, and without a target when they drop from combat due to challenge stun your spam will go through to nothing and no issue.
Alright...I'll alter my first statement. I think all this mainly because of other people. I use non-targetted commands towards the end (c hellstr or com path) while others tend to leave their attacks targetted. I think it would be pretty sweet if you could have challenge . I think it would prevent these mistakes, especially if it doesn't allow the winner to attack for a couple hours or something.
I see your point, but I think that if they use targeted commands at the end, they get what they deserve.
The system is already in place to prevent accidental deaths, people just have to use it instead of expecting the game to cater to them. Just my 2c.
It should be an 'auto' command. It would work similarly to mercy in that you would stop at stun, but if your 'autochallenge' command was activated you would get a message when the spammed attack goes through saying "You've already beat them!" or something like that.

It's not necessarily the person who dies that's doing it, so why should they have to pay for it?
They knew the risk when they accepted the challenge and then let themselves get beaten. ![]()

gotta say I like that one.
