As said in the title, I didn't originally come up with this, but I can only see it addding to the game, not taking from it..so here it goes.
IF (I'm well aware it might not be) the code for 'old bards' is still about, re-imp it as a choice for bards to take at level 25 (or 30 I'm not bothered) the same as healer/shaman. I loved old bards as pure RP characters...I'm sure the Playerbase is mature enough to honour the old unspoked 'pk shield' that bards had. Call it minstrell, so as to diferentiate from the new bard scheme, and give them some new titles.
Result this would cause
1.) Increased RP - due to a pure 'RP character'
2.) More deaths to the people who go 'Minstrel', due to the people who can't respect the idea (but thats what you sign up for when you make the choice to go Minstrel)
Ok I'm a touch drunk...but I see only minimal downsides to this, and major improvements to RP through it.....IF the code is still available, and if implementing it wont impact on to many other areas.
I agree. The main reason my first bard deleted is because bards were/are treated like moving targets. (We pretty much are, really.)

Old Bards just needed someone to play them right, I think. I mean, imagine: wear the dress off maddie for the sex change, sings 'lust seduction desire', bam, naked opponent. So many things like that.
I think Helmsley seems to do alright.
Yeah old bards were a powerhouse. (The dress idea). Lust seduction desire (after the devils dance), make them rem all, dirt kick, chase like a mofo.
If your wearing the right eq, a couple rounds against a naked enemy can be quite disastrous.
I'd like to see some sort of powerhouse rogue remort bard class.
Why not apply for it? If you want it that bad and the code is still around rp for the change. It IS rp you are looking for, so rp for an rp class.
I would love to see Bards have 4-5 path options. For the "RP" Class, they are really linear. Not all Bards are going to be singers or jesters, so they could use some variety.
I'd like to see a bar room brawler path.
