Should have killed at least one of those mercys.
Mastery Skill
Yeah' date=' but I thought that having [i']no PK talent was something only you could claim. ^_~
Have you seen me PK? I think Im one of the first people to condie a healer...
EDIT: Before 1000 Hours.
EDIT2: LONG Before 1000 Hours.
EDIT: Not to mention I condied Valione without one PK, and I was a frickin Avian Battlemage Trusted in Justice@!!
At least my condied healers made it 1000 hours ![]()
How the hell could you have ZERO kills with every skill mastered?
He kept spamming 'co heal' over and over again and always ended up at his pit for a reason albeit unknown to himself... ;p

I had all but......like five or so (disarm with a blm is... pointless you already have ten jillion ways to disarm and EVERYONE uses cursed weapons to begin with)
avatar of steel which was at like 96%
and two or three other skills which would have taken ages to master in combat. i had all the other skills mastered.
0pks. the ones that were close fights all got away.
yeah deathstrike was one of the five i think it stopped at 98% -laughs-
My warrior had every skill mastered. All of them.
Also had an invoker who had every skill/spell mastered, an old bard with everything but ventriloquate(can't be trained, I don't think) and a healer which had ever spell at rank 38 mastered(over 60 spells) but never pinned.

The reason that I personally, am against the idea for giving more benefits to mastered skills, is the fact that it would put more emphasis on the need to master skills to keep upto par with others. You mentioned in the first post that providing bonuses would take the emphasis away from training for PK purposes but infact, giving bonuses to combat skills for mastering other skills would only perpetuate that.
At the moment, I think the training system is spot on. I don't like training, and to that, I will probably never play a fire giant, a monk, a blademaster, a battlemage and maybe a few certain combos that I'd like to, but that's just due to my laziness. The current training system is quite balanced I think - those who can afford to spend time training their character to the max get benefit, but those of us who either can't spend that time, or don't want to spend time mastering anything but the essentials can keep up to a certain degree; player skill is still a big factor. Like what was said earlier, giving more bonuses for mastered skills or providing items for having everything mastered will only widen this gap, making the emphasis slightly more on who's got the higher proficiency in what skills, than player skill. Training might be essential in some cases but you still need fun - I HATE training, and I don't want to have to start investing serious training hours in my character just so I can keep up with everyone else.
As for rewarding items for mastering skills, a lot of classes have skills/spells that I wouldn't waste time practicing, never mind mastering. Comprehend languages? Would you really want to bother mastering that? Detect evil/good? There's a lot more to add to that, but those are skills I never bother practicing.
Just my thoughts anyway. ![]()
Dey
I actually agree with everything Dey said.
I guess I am compulsive. I get seriously annoyed when my "Important", and by that I pretty much mean all, skills arent mastered. I guess I feel I need every edge I can get, and even with the avg 30+ hours I spend training on every char I make, I still lose more than I win. But hey, imagine how much worse my ratio would be if I didnt train!!!
Actually...roll like a human something and power rank to 50. You may find you care very little about the char and for some reason are actually doing consideribly better at pk. I had a human ranger a while back with 0 masteries where I had quite a few pks.
Humans are actually one of the best races, no weakness, any align, any class, and that magical item perk is insane.
But hey' date=' imagine how much worse my ratio would be if I didnt train!!![/quote']
It would probably be about the same.
