I figured...since Thieves and Bards can try their hand at pick locking doors that are locked, what's stopping them from locking any door? I think it'd be interesting if they were allowed to lock just normal doors because of their 'skill' at unlocking. Uh...maybe..
Thief/Bard Skill - Lock Door
and then how the locked door is going to be unlocked? With what key?
Make them all passable, with pass door. Instead of having the no_pass flag.
yes very smart indeed,I rest in the tavern and a bard close the door and lock it,how I am supposed to get out if I don't have pass door?To pray the gods?
Or it could be a timer.
aff
You are affected by the following:
lock door : locked door for 4 hours
Something to the like of that, when it ends the lock is removed.
And what is the point?Aren't thieves not strong enough as they are now?
Then give it just to bards.
Why would a bard need to lock a door?
Why would a Bard need brawl? Why would a warrior need sword? If you're just asking painfully obvious questions just for the sake of trying to put it down then stop. It's not like you decide what happens and what doesn't. It's just an idea.
I can see it being overpowered and abused, but I do like the idea. Maybe make the bash command dispel the lock? Maybe make it a barricade or something. I like the idea as I said, but see alot of room for it being very overpowered, and over used.
Yea, you could do a lot of things to try and balance it. Such as having the 'barricade' last for a couple hours, say 4, but after it's used you cannot barricade again for quite a long time. The bash is also cool I suppose, but if you time the barricade skill to balance, the bash kinda cancels the whole idea.
Barricade
Yeah, but there would have to be a way out besides waiting out a timer. Bash sounds good. A giant would be able to get through a halflings barricade, I think.

I was asking a question that IS what these forums are for, I am entitled to my opinions much like yourself. I have never gotten on here and said any of your ideas were dumb, I just wanted to know why it was needed. And as far as bard needing brawl ha never had a bard I dont even know what the skill does. You were kinda snippy in this post for no reason at all.![]()
I dont think its a great idea. If a door has no lock on it to start with how will they lock it? Maybe nail some wood accross it? Anyone could do that not just a bard or thief. They are expert lock pickers, but it doesnt mean you can relock a door without the key, and again, a door with no locking mechanism on it...cannot be locked by that method.
Heh...
My bard would love that. Like...
lock door west
shoot bob west; shoot bob west; shoot bob west; shoot bob west;
shoot bob west; shoot bob west; shoot bob west; shoot bob west
pick door west; open door west; west
get all corpse
Bards should get distract! I don't know how the hell it would work, but it sounds cool. =D

You... pervert...
I'm not a perv. If I were a perv, i'd have said bards should get seduce.
Wait, that's a cool idea too. They could try to make themselves UnPKable by a person of the opposite sex for a few hours.
Seduce used to make the opponent strip. Lust/Seduction/Desire, I think.
That's still a different affect though than what I mentioned above.
I loved that song. Four Seasons them right after they strip... Pain. >=)
