I was sitting here and thinking, why cant rangers ambush hurt victims? if they are wounded wouldent it be easier to strike them? I mean pallys can walk in and charge their victim while wounded and absoultly slaughter them. so why cant rangers
just an idea ofcourse
Before rangers got the archery and fired weapons buffs, I'd be all for this. But, shooting is just an awesome way to take out anyone now, so I think this would make it just too insane.
shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, murder for one round while dual wielding, flee, ambush, get all corpse
True, but it dosent always go to plan
That's when you get the heck out of dodge and try again later.
One thing about being a good PKer is knowing when to hold'em and when to fold'em. If you get caught off guard, run. If things are not going exactly how you want them to, run. If you are getting outdamaged so quick that you can't think, run. Run run run run run. That's the best tool in PK.
Its like backstab in a lot of regards - I'd guess neither can be done while someone is low due to balance issues.

yea, there is always a reason

If only ambush could kill the first time you use it, eh?
At 50, backstab can't unless you're really un'eq'd vs a super suited thief
EDIT: OK - can't is a strong word - but I haven't seen it done and I've taken double backstabs on vuln mage classes, it doens't quite take you

And you cant double ambush
but that would be great

But we agree that it CAN happen. And, we agree that it CAN NOT happen with ambush. Don't we?
on another note, I dont think ambush does anywhere near the damage as backstab does it?
Hey, I don't know if I want to agree to anything like that without a log
:p
I seriously doubt that ambush will kill you - it can hurt (pretty sure 300+ hp is possible, perhaps more if all the whinging I've heard of late is true about a certain bow), but that won't get the job done.

I would have to agree, If anyone could show me a log of that
Hehehe, don't blame you. It would have to be a PERFECT scenario. Like...Undead/Slith thief, dualing avg29+ daggers on an unsancd, low con mage, hittin vuln and getting max roll.
However, as the laws of probability will tell us, it CAN happen.
Speaking of which, and since it's 6am, and I've had a couple shots of vodka, Id like to take this time to go off topic and tell you soemthigns that makes me very mad.
When you flip a coin, you have a 50/50 chance. In anything given two possible outcomes, it's a 50/50 chance. Yet, it boils my blood when people tell me, well, if you keep flippin the coin, you'll get heads. THIS IS NOT TRUE.
50/50 means exactly what it says. If you flip the coin once, you have a 50/50 chance of getting heads. The next time you flip it, your chances are not greater for tails or heads. It's still a 50/50
What this says is that IT IS A FACT THAT IT IS MATHEMATICALLY POSSIBLE that if you flipped a coin ONE TRILLION TIMES you could possibly land heads every single time.
There is no denying this, it is a fact. Do not try to argue it. You can't even say it will never happen. It is very possible. It's just as possible as flipping a coin twice and getting heads once and tails once. It's 50/50 every single time.
thank you, see oyu in game
what if its a double headed coin
I could then absoultly guarantee that it would always land on heads.
And you never said it couldent be, you just said a -coin-
With my decked pandemonium Slith thief I have killed many times only with backstabs.
Yes he did say that it wasn't two headed. He said it was a 50/50 chance to land heads.
A two headed coin would have a 100% chance to land heads.
Keep up with the math people....
not a 100% - only if you decide that it would have a 100% chance to land on one of the sides - but first of it could never land at all, or it could fall down standing up.
Flip a coin sometime and tell me how many times it doesn't land.
Then count how many times it lands on edge.
Get back to us sometime before the end of the year and let us know.
Now back on topic...no more math. At least not until Despiser posts.
