Social Comman: Idle

Since the beginning our characters have been seen simply as sitting on a fountain, or standing here or there. Often our characters are doing something, such as writing a scroll/journal, commanding armies, thinking of where to head next etc.

I am not sure if we can build a social skill for the purpose of improving RP or not but here is my suggestion.

Idle is a social skill intended for RP reasons, to eliminate frustrations caused when characters happen upon one another and can not tell exactly why the other person may be non responsive.

Syntax: Idle (text action for self)

Such as;

Idle 'marching up and down the line commanding his forces.'

or.

Idle 'practicing magical incantations.'

You would see.

Fool_hardy is here marching up and down the line commanding his forces.

or.

Fool_hardy is here practicing magical incantations.

Perhaps have it reset automatically when characters leave the room it was used in to the normal "is here/ is here sitting astride a ______"

Just an idea that occurred to me, something I thought I might not be the only player to use.

I like the place where this came from, but the first thing I thought of reading this is "Let's advertise ourselves to be an easy kill."

Unless it's bait...hehe

I like the idea.

Ivesianna is here speaking with Agmeel about peace.

Agmeel is here speaking with Ivesianna about peace.

You ask one of them if they would like to go hunting, and they tell you how rude you are. LOL

And like you said, could be used as Bait.

There's nothing ever wrong with more rp options in my book. Grebit has "lashed" at me several times when I'm trying to talk to him, while he's writing or not paying full attention. I'm a fan of this.

@Fool_Hardy is here.... playing with himself.

What you are talking about is generally called Pose.

I'm pretty sure it has been implemented in multiple ROM based muds, so i'm sure there are snippets out there.

Imms can do that, it's changing your long desc.

Is this something a character can apply for, if they have X number of RP points?
