Charge is such a useless skill. Ask Anume. How many times did you see Thulgan charge you? UC is right on this one - you are always better off using murder.
This suggestion might just make charge a bit more useful.
Only possible problem I see are minos, but their charge needs a rework either way.
Minotaur charge can be nullified by many different things, the initial charge can be countered by 3-4 classes while the additional hits can be parried, dodged, weapon blocked and shield blocked by everyone with the skills. A dirt kicked, slowed, and or a defensive mino will not be charging, just attack first :)
The extra Minotaur charge attacks are basicially a murder attack, have you ever parried, dodged, weapon or shield blocked while being murdered? Of course you have, so have I and so has everyone else and we all still do it on a daily basis with every class.
It was force fed to me ever since my return by imms and players that Mages used to be broken but are now balanced, so now that I'm on the band wagon with the entire team you wanna bring up that I used to think otherwise? Noooo way! I was dead wrong in my previous statements when I first returned and I chalk it all up to ring rust, I was gone waaay to long and didn't have a grasp on how the game was even played anymore. You even told me yourself when I returned @f0xx that my lack of success playing mages was because I fully suck at PK, me blaming skill gimps, edges, overpowered melee eq was just my way of making myself feel better about sucking :)
If minotaurs charge was 'soo broken' then everyone would be playing them, right? And if my memory serves me correctly that charge skill has been like that for well over 10 years and for some reason no Minotaur has been able to beat the game yet ;)
So if someone doesn't like being charged play a class with counter, if someone doesn't like being hellstreamed play a class with mana shield or spell turning, of someone doesn't like being mal'ed up play a cleric, if someone doesn't like being blackjacked/strangled/slept play an undead... this is a never ending list.

Just as an FYI - this exact scenario did happen during your long break. There were a couple of ridiculously OP Minotaur Warriors due to how Flee / Charge worked on Minotaurs - and the code was changed to compensate.

You are wrong.
Firstly, there have been plenty of Minos that have wrecked the PB.
Secondly, Mino charge was recently nerfed (it now has 3 rounds of lag), but against mages, it's still op as hell. Especially on a dual axe wielding berserker, and especially with some paths' newly found and very reliable utility.
On the other hand, mages have very little means to prevent the charge itself, and against certain combos (i.e. mino in warmaster), it gets even harder.
On mage-melee balance - things are generally well balanced, except a few combos who break this. Minos are one of those. They've always been strong against mages, but with the most recent changes to zerks, they are now blatantly straight broken.
[edit] Btw, if you do want to get into the swing of things, I would strongly recommend rolling one. As players, our task is to spot imbalances and take as much advantage of them as possible.
Only those who care truly about the game though, will come out and try to help balance, even if that means nerfing the combo they currently play.
Sounds like @f0xx rolled a mage and is wearing that pair of shoes i wore when i first returned, lol ;)
You know mate, this comment speaks a lot about you and your character.
Firstly, you assume that merely because you defend and try to buff the combos that you currently play, with little-to-no thought about the general balance of the game, everyone else does it too.
Secondly, it's quite obvious that you are playing a mino.
Thirdly, you seem to be out of constructive arguments so you now decide to attack me by question the motives of my own arguments (by assuming that I attack minos only because I play a mage).
Hopefully the IMMs will notice your once again flame-baiting post, which is even more hilarious because they actually know who I play.
You full blown posted numerous times that I completely suck with mages, suck at PK and that i should stop whining about melee classes, and all the sudden you start sticking up for mages (after i spent a year doing so) ?
Come now @f0xx, we all know the game is balanced. You are obviously just having a hard time playing a mage and not living up to your own expectations with the class, stop blaming 1 Minotaur and one racial skill for your lack of ability with magic users. Hell, when i played a mage a ferals fury was a no fail game ender that couldnt be prevented, anything charging at me would have been a blessing because charge can be prevented numerous ways where you obviously wont take the time to do them.
And im not flaming anything, im just writing on a public forum thats here to be written on. If you dont like what i say please block me and stop reading what i write, nobody is forcing you to do it but yourself :)
