Has anyone ever thought about allowing the players to RP bonus other players? And before anyone cries how badly it would be abused calm your nerves, I don't mean to open season the points ;)
I think players should be allowed to bonus out unlimited single RP points once per 12 to 24 RL hours to any individuals they think are putting in extra effort.
For example, I could bonus Ivessiana 1 point, Cyrpian 1 point, Donovan 1 point for having a great game session that involved RP during our fights or just a great conversation, but none of them more than 1 point. I then wouldn't be able to bonus any of them again for another 12-24 RL hours.
What I think this would do is promote more conversations and better RP'ed PK's while giving people more reason to play their best chars during slow periods. The way it is now you either have to RP in front of a god or snooping god OR post logs on the forum to get the extra points, why not take 'some' of the RP point distribution off the IMMS plate and let the players bonus each other for playing with each other. It also promotes more interaction between high and low ranked chars.
As far as abuse goes a player giving the same player a point per day would take him 50 days to accumulate a somewhat decent purchase with the points, that's almost 2 months and not worth the manipulation attempt. You could also add an approval process where your char needs to app to immortal, RP bonus ability, forum name UC or (main char name Xxxx). That way the IMMS know the ability is in good hands and if someone abused it in the past they can nix the ability from that player entirely.
When an RP bonus is handed out it will show on the players (showrp), it can also HAL to immortals player a(rank 35) bonused player b(rank 50) on 06/03/2017 (reason 'Basic RP interaction'). Immortals can also read players showrp cards to see where they accumulated their points.
Well... if you're only interacting with someone to get RP points, you either haven't done it before at all (Where this would be a step in the right direction) or do as we do now, and post the log? I dunno.
On the flip side, what happens if I interact with someone and they don't give me points?
How am I supposed to take that fuck you?
How about try harder with that person next time or don't bother with them in the future? People get out of an RP adventure game what they put into it :)
Would rather see characters awarded single rp points to be given away for each real hour played. Meaning each hour grants you one GRP. Grantable Role Play points are a very good concept.
Then Aulian would atleast be able to say, he must not have had any to give, he ewas not saying my RP is crap. I don't need to place a price on his head.

What if your on all day OR with a bang up group of 5 where everything is clicking and you only have 3 pts to give?
OR again if your on all day and you come across some excellent PK and RP from a new char every hour? Why should they be punished for roleplaying with you and your out of points to give? They will not wanna talk to you anymore.
So even with being able to give unlimited rp points away in a day it is still limited to no more than 1 per person, so it doesnt matter if you give away 3 or 30, nobody can get more than 1.
There are a few ways we could implement player to player rewards.
Currently, posting a log and titling it for the reward of the other seems to be the only way.
While your idea sounds good I think it leaves room for people to fret over abuse, such as did you notice fool hardy, wade, and hotsprings keep rewarding each other? When truthfully, at our playtime it's usually just us on. Who else should we reward? But it would look bad anyway, rumors would start, someone gets mad because my tired old arse forgot to point them, and they laughed at my jokes even. I am with you in concept, but your talking about giving away real power, lasting power, that can not be looted. So I think we as mortal players should be limited in how much we can reward.
I may have 20 charaters, what would stop me from giving koetag 20 rp a day? What if koetag has more friends than just me? Not against the idea, just want limits.
Because Kotag doesnt wanna get denied and banned over some stupid rp points that are tracked ;)
Like it or not RP has been turned into a bonusable currency that purchases super or special items in a PK mud, not everyone is on the immortals time schedule but everyone deserves to be able to make those purchases if they play the same game.
Everything gets abused, find the abusers and just get rid of them.
If something is soo powerful that it might get abused, maybe get rid of IT.
But like i said earlier, have people apply for the ability stating their forum name, everyone is tracked so it wojldnt be worth the risk to abuse:)
You could curb the abuse by making people earn the points they wish to give away, through actual time played in Aabahran. I do not think every drunk dwarf that burps or farts deserves an RP reward. The original concept to me should be rewarding "exceptional" RP, and many players do deserve it. I am all for the Idea, I just think that you should have to be logged in for a certain amount of time before you can earn and use it. Just an opinion.
That's how you turn people from silent killers (which was the main complaint before RP points existed) into RP powerhouses.
I still get silently pk'd all the time, I haven't seen any change in this since RP points were introduced.

What changed before and after the change?
It killed off an entire playstyle, it favors people who play only one character and disadvantages those who like to play new ones more frequently. I've never been a one hero/character type of gamer from WoW to mobas to diablo but those games tend to give a helping hand to that playstyle instead of discourage it.
The only real way for me to get RP points is to write journals, and I don't enjoy writing journals. I enjoy interactions but I'd have to wake up in the middle of the night to do that. So the end result is I tend to not have many RP points, which is a disadvantage because RP points = pk advantage.
I'm not suggesting any changes, but only that you appreciate that other people aren't in your situation. For example, qrace/qclasses are pretty much impossible for me to get, when I got my vamp I had to log in for 14 hours straight and ended up getting it at 5am my time. So for you, you might enjoy the personal touch of being transformed by the immortal but for me it is a major problem.

Must just be you? I've had a demon, psi, vamp and a range of restrings etc without much issue.
@Unknown Criminal my original comment had no intention of saying it was a crap idea. I just saw a possible flaw that needed addressing.. I still think it's a reasonable enough idea.
I have given this notion some more thought. And here is what I believe is fair, even if it may not be popular.
If I desire to reward a character with an RP reward for what I consider to be exceptional role play, then I SHOULD be able to do so.
However, since as a mortal character I have no way to create these RP points from nothing, they must come from somewhere.
I submit that ANY and ALL RP points my character has earned thus far, could be rewarded to another player, if I am willing to PART with them.
Then I am satisfied that people awarding others, have EARNED the right to do so by excelling at RP themselves proving they know what should be rewarded.
Furthermore, how much more will it mean for the other player to know he was rewarded through self sacrifice of another player?

You ARE able to. By submitting the log of that exceptional roleplay to the prayer forum and sharing with the staff how exceptionally well that particular play made you feel. I've done that with multiple characters. Nowadays I submit more logs of people who impress with their RP, rather than with my own.

Same. I do this as well. And the imms always respond positively.
