Player Feedback - New Ofcol

I don't like the house regen thing.

  1. You have to stay 8 hours staring at the screen to get it. (boring)
  2. In a city that will certainly be harboring thieves/ninjas.
  3. Then you get a PK bonus, that while a low 10% sugested by F00x is balanced. People are already saying +50% which would be quite OP.
  4. Then the houses are located in an area that is out of the way. This kind of houses should be in Val Miran.

Having houses is Ok. Just lets us use RP points to purchase houses in the 3 big cities, at a reduced cost. 100 rp points to make a permanent room is a bit expensive for most characters. Perhaps 40 rp points for a generic house that recognizes the owner in Val Miran and that vacates with the player death is ok.

Your house for gold is great because it allows the non elite to have something special.

Now Celerity idea of player owned shops is amazing.

I don't like most of it, because it's heavy coding and to ambitious projects normally end not implemented half coded. So i suggest a low energy approach to her brilliant idea. Have player shops. Have it cost Merchant CP's or RP's (for non merchants). And allow us to sell common items. And a single rare item.

Basically, the owner would collects a single common item from the world and add it to the shop. That would allow the shop to sell the said item at infinite storage at extra price based on item value (like regular shops). For each sale the gold would be auto credited into the player bank account. The load item to shop from player function should validate the item. Validation like non rare or 'cure critical' or other game breaking stuff. In time a new flag could be coded to make marked items auto-reject. For example, to expensive items could not have infinite storage and limited to 1 per boot. Tainted ankh to good/cheep to sell in shop. Imms push price to 40k and now item is one per boot at 60k selling price.

Extension 1: Allow shop owner to sell rare items. Limited to X level. Item loads as normal, but disappears. At each "List" it should check rare availability and if available it would show and allow purchase. If not available it would show .

Extension 2. Allow people to raid/kill shop mob to drain the shop owner profit. We could have a profit factor associated to shops. Or a negative gold output that would be needed to be covered before the shop deposits again gold in bank.

After sleeping on the Idea. I am convinced that all six homes will not only sell, I foresee them being highly sought after regardless if they provided any bonus. The house Deed(key) is crafted by Zoichan and has the characters name on it. The Doors will block ethereal passage and will not be able to be picked. Providing an honest safe room, for RP encounters. I will be absolutely amazed if the asking price, since the Deed(key) can be sold, does not skyrocket over the first few years. By the end of the third year, I would wager all six houses are Clan owned with deeds passing from elder to elder. We shall see.

Right...

This should not exist. Not even Herald or Royals can prevent PK. The door should be pick-able. Or allow us to put the house on fire with damage over time inside the house.

lmao, Mya the Arsonist does not tolerate no PK rooms at all :)

Checks will be made to insure that no one is avoiding pk. And of course, like guilds and clans, why would you stomp around your new house while bloodied?

maybe we could modify disguise to allow thieves and bards into other peoples homes and/or cabals? :)

I wouldn't mind seeing quests that make it viable from 1-50. I would love to see a quest to get an owner only armor piece, perhaps rather than grinding for a ton of vellum like from the Pit, perhaps have items scattered far and wide. You can upgrade it upwards of 10 times, only being able to upgrade it once every 5 levels. If you so choose you can create/upgrade them all at once at level 50 or just do it in those intervals. Based on class it'll change what affects it has, or even race only specifics. Make it as viable as the high level items, but make sure that the last few items to upgrade it completely could be in areas you'd definitely need help getting to them and using them. If you so choose, make it so that you can upgrade it specifically towards melee, mage, or hybrid too.

As far as houses go, perhaps make them transferable via PK and bartering. The perks of tending them could be possibly giving you the fasting ability much like a Druid can do, just not making you 'full' per se so that you can still eat consumables on the fly. Each house could cause a different affect and inside each can be a statue of a golem or something that casts spells on you, but only if you're asleep. +EXP bonus for non pinnacle characters, +CP gain for a short while for pinnacles regardless of whether they're in a Cabal or not, possibly randomly casting spells that your class doesn't offer you IE: sanctuary, armor, shield, flesh armor, etc. May be capable of offering 'locate object' regardless of level and whether the item is capable of being located or not. Spell will obviously have a large cool down again based on what the item is or whether it could have been located or not. ~7 game days.

It would be great to have more viable weapons between 1-30 and separate ones that 'unlock' once you hit various higher levels. Lock picks can be purchased to open the lockboxes, but the rate in which they're successful can be ~30% and the higher the lockbox level, the higher the chance to fail is. If Celerity's idea were implemented, perhaps allow 10% of all gold spent there go directly to the character. They can choose on how much of any single item to sale and set prices on them based off stocking it with their own personal items excluding any rare/unique items. One person may have a starstone slab on sale for 100,000 gold and another may have it on sale for  2500 gold.

That already exists.

I like the lockpick idea, though I'd make it more intense so that it doesn't do away entirely with bards/thieves. Maybe a 20% chance to work, but if it doesn't work the lockpick breaks.

That's hilarious. But seriously none of you thought of a way in with me only eliminating the two obvious choices?

I am thinking that the syndicate does not have to pick locks. I have seen what a woods witch can do to a lockbox.

I've been away for years, so it's not surprising. I only know of the Pit with the weapon which I actually find nifty, but what armor is it that grows with your leveling? I'm curious since the amount of quests have most likely easily doubled since I left and came back.

Still see New Ofcol being the Aabahranian Geneva in the future. A town with a Clan Houses for every clan, a city where Aabahranian Politics could be plotted. Treaties could be sighned, Wars WILL be declared. Let the rising of this new city in our world, be an avenue for the First Aabahranian World War! A man can dream.

The only reason I visit Raladia ever is because of the milk.

Perhaps have the area connect more? Areas with one way in and out are a dead zone.

If its part of the Empire so to speak, will it get a GATE from the other major cities?

Quests bring all the boys to the yard.

Pit/recall areas? Can a certain type of people request it as a home town? Human only? Lawful only?

+1 to more than one way in and out.

@ Pawnshop Idea - Some item values need tweaked to introduce a merchant with virtually unlimited resources, or the pawnshop owner should be uninterested in such things. Example; Order of Light Amulet

Lets introduce some better gear on the guards, but not place alignment restrictions.

Would be very cool to keep the Dragon in my Opinion.
