Team Builds

I would like to suggest we divide up as a pbase and create teams. Build teams. We will need a two or three team captains, preferably players familiar cabal life. To be team captain we need you to know basically all the cabal skills. Players interested in being team members could PM the team leader for an opportunity to join their team. Once per quarter we could have each team provide their build for review. This would be a way for players to get more involved in the changes to their world. Personally I am unqualified to lead a team, but will support one of you willing to take up the reigns and drive the cart. Teams could decide among themselves what kind of build to do, will it be a new area, a new race complete with backstory and balanced, or even a new class? This would require team captains access to the sub port for actual building, and team members access to a private forum here where ideas, writings, maps, and concepts are shared.

Been sitting on this Idea for a month, consider it my Christmas Present Aabahran.

Sounds fun on the nose.  Until one team doesnt do well.  Or you will end up with one group always on at one time and another group on at another.

Err...did you read his post @Kyzarius? These are content creation teams, not PvP teams. :P

I like the idea personally and would def love to contribute in this form. I think this could help aid the immortals as well and perhaps speed things up. However, I think the team leads will need to work closely with Immortals to make sure the idea is accepted and will possibly not make the cut when complete as it may not meet the standards.

I would hope we might get some staff members who already have access to the build site to volunteer as team captains.

I will not pretend to know who or what goes on above the mortal realm, but I would think we have more than one active builder.

These builders could lead the teams, provide parameters, and hopefully be fully invested in the teams success.

Team leaders may have more than one project in the works, therefor may have their team members assigned to different tasks depending on member knowledge and skill.

I am not prepared to start giving access to build port, considering the secret stuff in the works there. The last time we (Volgathras was lead at the time, I was just building) let a non-immortal in there, it took them less than 2 hours to start breaking rules by snooping around places they cannot be. I am not exactly eager to restart that, because it was one of my areas that was snooped, and resulted in having to redesign it. That's a lot of work.

I am more than amenable to taking build suggestions and ideas from players, given that some thought and overall direction is included. I have even offered that in my community corner, and got a few responses, some are now on my to-do list.

I do like the idea of several players collaborating on a build project, I will just state that a new race is not in the realm of OLC, but instead coding, and new requests for coding should be handled in the established manner (posted when Erelei opens the floor).

As for the build team, it is currently as follows:

Lloth (Head Builder)

Ulmusdorn

Zoichan

Acele

That makes four of us. Ulmusdorn and I are about to be moving into the testing phase of the next big area, so our time is limited. 

Acele and I have a major revamp due to a recent plot to several areas that is next in line for implementation.

Zoichan and Acele both have small projects in the works.

Between the four of us, we can handle most requests. However, the current projects do take precedence.
