Invokers opening lockboxes

You are crackhead.

I never understood why knock doesnt work on locked objects. The helpfile does not make it sound like it should only work on doors.

I'm on the side of knock unlocking lockboxes but only because like manual labor said...when I think of knock, I see a wizard brandishing his staff and casting energy at a large iron lock and it falling apart, unlocking whatever it was locking.

Sounds like lockboxes have the type of locks that 'cannot be undone'.

Perhaps, but the current and past reality of knock is that every lock that isn't a door is a lock that cannot be undone - also, the help file could easily be interpreted as referring to those locks that cannot be picked or knocked open but instead absolutely require keys.  I've long been on the side that thinks knock should be usable on objects other than doors.  What is the downside of allowing one more class the ability to open a few more types of locks when they have a spell that - by its description, helpfile, and inspiration (D&D knock will open any lock) - should be able to do so?

I am not suggesting knock shouldn't unlock lockboxes. I agree that it should be able to just to clarify.

I wish I knew how to make a poll to see what the general consensus is. hint hint, wink wink
