Lore

I would like to see lore work like identify.

The skill lags, it breaks stealth, and costs mana.

I see no reason why it should not divulge all the

particulars of the item you are using it on.

Perhaps make it so that it only identifies items when it is mastered?

+1

maybe it should have selectables that you can specialize in? Like armor specialist, weapon specialist, item specialist? It doesn't make sense to me that anyone would be able to identify everything about an item without some specialization involved.

Limited version of identify sounds pretty fun.  Or, it takes several attempts to get the right "read".

What is the downside to everyone having in game access to what exactly things do?

As long as there is lag + mana cost it is perfectly balanced IMO

If everyone wants identify, they can buy it with RP points.

Lore does give you information that Identify does not.

Yah it tells you the area the object came from.

I don't that that is on par with knowing what else it does.

I thought it did this already.  The higher your skill, the more accurate the reading and the more you can glean from your reading.  Whether it is capped below 100% accuracy or not is a different story entirely.

Reworking lore into a better use would be interesting.

< 100% random stuff.

100% full damage numbers + hit/dam roll. and full AC on armors.

103% Can id saves.

105% Can HP/mana modifiers.

110% Omniscience (I think the spell is omnipotence???)

Red Ruby of true Seeing, item eyewear, material glass (for breaking on drop) + 5% Lore.

Compendium of knowledge , item treasure, material paper, +3% Lore

Mirror of identification. Whatever it's name in elven kingdom, that used to be the wand of identification that never worked. 0 hours Omnipotence.

Many linked chain of Knowledge, item neckwear, material iron, +2% Lore (GOT Maester chain :P)

Ring of Wisdom, +1% Lore

Hat of Memory, item headwear, material cloth +5% Lore

Could be interesting,.
