changes to battlemage

Can battlemages please have second attack to feel more warrior like? Necromancers have second attack...

Don't know what happened but some how 2 posts were made not my intention.

He's got a point there, heh.

Battlemages get first attack, two from blades, and 1-4 from dancing blade. Not to mention, parry, terra shield, blur, blades for defenses. On top of a variety of attacking spells as well and the ability to gain massive amounts of AC compared to warriors. What is there to change?

BMGs have 2nd attack (haste), 3rd attack (blades), 4th attack (eldritch), 5th attack (reflective shield).

Suppose I wanted a 6th attack?

Well, if we have to get technical, blades are actually 2 attacks

I'd rather see battlemages see something from weapon proc's on dancing blades than second attack.

5 eldrich blade

6 low chance of double eldrich blade attack

7 special  eldrich as double attack or  trip or wirlwind (x4 low damage) or disarm

8 Reflective shield reflect vs magical weapon, OR if you charge it pre fight.

 

So you can get 7-8 attacks 100%. But from my experience only the blades will hit vs meele players.

Sharp metal casting also deals damage like another attack.

 

If you want my opinion gauntickes, BMG are only competetive vs someone with lower skill than yourself.

Once you fight decked veteran meele player who doesn't make mistakes you will struggle a lot.

Not quite mya. Blades hit everyone - but you can parry, dodge, shield block, and any other passive defense against them. Same with elderitch blade. Haste doesn't guarantee a second attack, either.

BMGs are just plain fun. They really don't need any changes IMHO. They're already very balanced.

Are you sure?  I was thinking maybe give them a bard song or hellstream...

To Mya's point (and some other posts on this topic) what BMG's had going for them was attrition abilities via the slow and field-dressing skills.  Now that everyone has access to slow, BMGs are a bit under valued.

This goes for so many classes now due to consumables. It's not suprising that we see so many warriors and rangers due to the fact that the can get most any protective spell that a caster can get.

If bmages get buffed I'm coming back.   So...don't.
