guide system

Ive been thinking about how to build up our population. There are three major hurdle for new players.

  1. Learning the map

  2. Learning the gear

  3. Learning to pk

I think a guide system would be beneficial in keeping their morale up despite the blood and tears of this game. Some ideas would include:

Rp point system, similar to ranking, to take them under your wing and show them the ropes. Teach them the maps where tos and where nots. Show them gear selections based on each level tier and even end game. An arena where they can pk and kits without death or item loss.

These are just some ideas floating in my head and they are at an early stage but I think most the players here are vets and can provide a ton of resources. Obviously this would have to be something allowed to new players only to avoid abuse but I think it would help to keep players around despite the hardships and allow the vets initiative to help.

We desperately need some new blood who can become long term players without ten years of trial and error. Ideas?

I think the PK part of the Arena should be brought back. People should be able to spar and train without the fear of accidental death.

Its a very nice concept.

If I were to suggest an Idea, it would be a special skill that could be applied for in addition what you have. A skill that would allow the "new player" to observe their mentor. This skill would allow the new player to watch his mentor in battle without having to follow the mentor around. Something similar to immortal snoop. Reading PK logs help people to learn what to do, but seeing the battle in real time would likely be a better tool.

Arena expectation room that can snoop the current arena battle.

I've always been a fan of a mentor system. I'd take it a step further and allow the mentor to be able to 'revert' to the level of the student so that they can travel together effectively. Of course, we play in a very PK oriented game, so there would have to be a timer on it, or perhaps make it unusable when there are enemies around to avoid any kind of abuse. But even so, I think that all of us here would be happier to see another player helping out a newbie even if it means they are unavailable for the slaughter for a while.

Excellent ideas, both Serinkane's and Forsaken's. Sign me up.

I like the revert idea but you'd have to remove there ability to pk at that scale too. Not sure how to address the 50 scale pk, maybe give them a forced option like challenge that their enemy can force them to revert back in so many hours.
