I don't like many stuff. Like others.
DVD is right. That sentence is not proper English.
It makes sense, if literally translated into my language, but not in English.
I could do better, but it takes a lot of time. That post probably took me like 40 min to write.
What I intended to say was that I didn't like many particular things in Celerity proposal (The one I wrote about). But I liked other things in the proposal. I actually liked very much the thematic of the paths, just not the implementation. I loved the Keiri mounted samurai feel.
Hehe, just 15 min in, and I noticed fell =/= feel.
I have almost never failed to understand your posts Mya. Do not let the jeers of some keep you from hearing the cheers of others. Post on.
Mya's posts are the bestest.
~40 mins for a paragraph sized post?
That actually makes a lot of sense as Mya's posts seem to always be very well thought out. I also have never failed to understand them, though sometimes I have to re-read a few sentences.
We need the ability for a ninja to essentially "assassinate" certain characters
Why? Because certain characters are too strong they require assassinate in order to die? Sounds like we should be looking what makes those super-powerful characters too strong instead of a one-shot kill weapon that circumvents their strength.
Let's be fair too---anyone who is too strong to require assassinate to be killed is also good enough to generally not get assassinated. It doesn't really function like the 'balancer' many people claim it to be.
If you use study to boost ninja melee to the point where they are a viable threat to 'ultra' characters...ninja will be horribly overpowered against all other characters. That is why you need to look at the 'ultra' characters for the balancing. You are essentially proposing that the new study/assassinate system must make ninja 'ultra-strong'. So, in the end, you'll have two problems and none solved.
I think this was well said. If we need ninjas to take out these ultra strong characters perhaps the problem is elsewhere? I always thought ultra strong characters were supposed to be taken out by other ultra strong characters?
Okay. Points made and taken, and I now agree with the idea that assassinate and "I win" skills should be eliminated. As a playerbase, we've matured to the point where **assassination **is detrimental to the gameplay and atmosphere and only serves to harm what we currently have.
I still love my study idea, but it could be less intense than I originally intended. Providing a nice bonus, a little better than Crusade against a particular player.
I spent a long time making this thread, so I feel like I can bump it once and awhile.
The Celerity can do what the Celerity wishes to do.
Rereading this, I believe I have a suggestion.
Maybe we could give one of your paths a more controlled Vanish. A vanish that always removes the ninja from battle but does not have to remove the ninja from his current room. Perhaps we could add an argument that allows the player to set a maximum distance.
Hope to see some of this one day I really do.
So umm, Bump +1
