Quests, rewards and remorts.

Ok, two situations I have noticed.

No one wishes to do/join  certain quests before joining a cabal.

No one wishes to do/join certain quests before getting their class remort.

I think this situation detracts from the game. As people could be bounding and interacting while doing this quests, specially as this moments tend to be privileged RP moments. I never been in some 1 hour long quest where some sort of RP did not flourish. And we don't have that many players.

"This I can't play with you guys, because I'm saving for later, even though I really want to play with you guys" really sucks for game enjoyment.

How can we fix it:

  1. Have CP's quest rewards stack even if you aren't in a cabal. Upton entry you can have the cabal present them as rewards for the induction of such a famous person. (On joining a cabal you get a message and now can see the CP's you have accumulated outside the cabal.)

  2. On remorte, just like you lose all levels and experience you lose all quests done.

OR

  1. Have a new command Auto-Quest, that disables doing quests. Just like Auto-exp.

I like how the quests have been evolving this past year. Only a handful are that which falls into that category of waiting until you are established. It has become less of a big deal as of late and I even completed a few with characters just because you can kill the Gorgorshnak a few times and he rewards you each time you succeed. If you do the quests early you still get all the rewards, just not cps. I understand where you are coming from, I just don't think it hurts rp. I think stacking cps would cause loitering, I'm against public loitering.

I agree the quests have been awesome, roll a human and try out the new quest line. I did it when they first rolled them out <bugging volg every 5 mins> and did them one way. I did a few quests a month ago these SAME quests with different results. Just awesome. Anyways, auto quest could be a nest feature mya, I 1+ the idea

The first one is the only that makes sense to me. #2 doesn't because why should they benefit from doing the same quest twice. Yeah, most of us know the quests by now, but from the IG perspective, the character has not been through the process. Why would they get rewarded for doing something they have already done? #3 Makes no sense as you can just not do the quests.

To be honest, I'm with Vaerick on this one. Just don't do the quests... it's never been a struggle for my characters if I'm waiting for a cabal induction or something like that. Live your life, play your character. Do the quests in time. No problem.

I think I like 1), a lot.

-> easier to find a group to go to some places

-> people who are not yet caballed and go do not have to be so careful to not be in the room at the right/wrong time

-> makes sense ic

Heh, I can see the irony in it already...someone is going to get halfway through a deep, dark, treacherous gauntlet... and forget to autoquest...

Either the first suggestion, or a /autoquest command absolutely. People should be able to play non-caballed characters and not have to worry about it, I'm amazed it's never been changed.

Why would they get rewarded for doing something they have already done?

Why should my extra HP be removed when I remort ... err from a Adventurer into another class?

I get my level set to L1, so why can't I have my XP back?

The point is, the reward gets removed.

Also, remorts will spend all trains from leveling on stats, because they can get those back. I normally even leave some free ones, In case I lose some CON points.

This system also rewards people who push from the start into remorts. If you are some old character who decided to remort after 1-2 years of play you most likely have already done all those quests. So it's discriminating characters that grow naturally.

Also "not doing the quests" is again promoting anti-game. Same as waiting till cabal, except it's waiting till remort.

Just be able to collect cps, what you earn you keep.  You just can't spend it unless you are in a cabal.  could also help for ppl who are cabal kicked or end up switching cabals through other means in keeping their cps.  I mean it does make sense to a certain degree, or other cabals could not accept that currency.

Ranking isn't the same as questing. Remorting is changing guilds you should expect to learn stuff again as you are now new to the guild. Quests make no sense to repeat to me because what's the point in doing a quest again that your character has already done? It's supposed to be a one and done thing because it's a life experience for the character. I still don't get the autoquest either because you can just not do it. I guess what you mean is so you can still go to gear but not trigger it, or something similar? That is accomplishable already if you do it right.

That said, I do like suggestion number one, and think it should be a thing. It makes sense logically, and fits in game wise.

+1 for option 1.

Offered suggestion. Option 3 causes Option 1. Autoquest Off triggers a "Save account" where rewards are saved until Autoquest On is entered. Keeping characters from repeating the One and Done quests. The only trouble I see is the EXP rewards on some of those quests would make remorts go from 1 to Anume knows what level in an instant. Maybe players will have to sacrifice EXP rewards on quests if they wish to Autoquest Off. After all the player is making the decision.

Personally, I wait until high level for most quests not because I desire CP points, but because the EXP bonus allows me to gain those last few titles quickly without the need for a group.

How will the code know whether one plans to remort or not?
