Can we revisit the idea of removing this? I know death is to be avoided; however, I think this has a tendency to curtail the desire to gather items by oneself, which is a problem when there are so frequently only one or two people on.
It's also not the most newbie friendly attribute during exploration.
Please note that my suggestion is not to remove rares crumbling on pdeaths, which I think helps to keep things in circulation. Only on mobdeaths.
There have been MANY times that I've refused to travel alone or with others because of this risk. I don't want to lose my hard-earned equipment to a death trying to get some other person their hard-earned equipment.
If someone wants an equipment run, I'll do what I can to help, if I can help. Even if it's the two of us, unless my characters RP couldn't give a care less if you live or die. Losing rares is certainly a pain, but I'd refuse only in fear of death, not fear of lost equipment.
Personally, I'm fine with how it is. With the reduced player count, revisiting this sounds like a good idea. Maybe not eliminating it entirely, but perhaps reducing the number of items lost?
I am curious whether rotdeath items count as crumbling rares, or you might end up losing 2 rares + 2 rotdeath items?

I too am interested.
I am currently of the opinion that if I am loosing two rares due to rotdeath, that should count towards the crumbling rares.
