Bounty Loot Scale

The idea is simple. It comes from myself and Chesta and is basically explained as:

Lesser Bounty(50k-250k OR 50-100cps) = 1 item gained. ---   OR no item at all.

Medium Bounty(251-500k OR 101-300cps) = 2 items gained. ---  OR 1 item.

Heavy Bounty(501k+ OR 301cps +) = 3 items gained. ---   OR 2 items.

The reason for this is simple. When a new player or someone that isn’t as good at PK is bountied its a heavy burden for that player. They now have to fight their war, Syndicate hunters, and anyone else wanting that bounty. They lose their equipment randomly and they die. A HUGE thing to consider when you’re a new player. I think a “rating” system for loot should be added.

Syndicate Elders/Leaders know who to refuse a bounty on. 50k for Thulgan is realistic and in the same token throwing 50k down on a newbie that just got some rares you want isn’t either.

I think it’d make placing bounties a little more time involved and less of “ I don’t like him SO, here’s 50k. “. That’s a trip to Blackwatch.

Every cabal allied with Syndicate or wanting to get in their good graces bounties every enemy or anyone that could get them favor from Syndicate do so. That leaves a huge issue for cabals that can't utilize this system because of alliances or it doesn't fall into the spectrum of their cabals ideals.

It makes it hard for people to get on their feet, as it were.

Ill start off with saying I like the scaled idea

Then drone into:

I placed like 12 bounties last week and 'maybe' 2 got collected, I got no loot from them and the rest expired.

Having a 50k bounty expire sucks, having a large summed bounty expire is a kick in the junk where someone probably

wouldnt place one that size again.

Expiry is an issue.

The strongest players that 'should' be bountied are either syndicates themselves OR the syndicates teddy bears (nexus).

That alliance/pact/trade is an issue.

Then there is people like me who cant stand strong players who have the ability to track your exact location, it hinders

or prevents note writing, chat sessions, equipment upgrading or re-equiping in general. I usually just log out if im

bountied and a syndicate comes on.

Thats the last issue

Here is a bounty system I would like to see, I know it will never be done but im gonna write it anyways

No expiry on bounties.

100% mob driven.

Selection of level based bounty mobs to hire. (10k hires a lvl 20, 20k hires a level 25, 30k hires a lvl 40, ect ect)

You can pay to have bounty mobs skills upgraded. (5k adds bash, another 5k adds trip, another 5k adds sanc, ect ect)

OR just combine that all and have a group lists of bounty hunters for hire.(group A hunter 1-2-3-4-5, group b hunter 1-2-3-4-5, group c hunter 1-2-3-4-5, ect ect)

Each time a bountied player logs on the bounty cabal gets notified and dispatches the appropriate hunter.

The bounty hunter mob walks all areas and can unlock all doors, OR make the door unlock another upgrade.

If the bounty mob is killed it will not come back 'until' the player logs out and comes back in again.

I think that would be funner then 'ugh, him again. quit quit quit', hehe.

50k for thulgan? Damn Archfiend, you're losing your touch.

Some interesting ideas, but nothing I see implementable in their current form.

Why not implement a penalty on Syndicate if a bounty is not collected i.e. expires? That way if I put a 4000000000000000000 gold bounty on Tkanzhar or Thulgan, which they can't possibly buy out, and no Syndicate ever attempts to collect they get penalized heavily for avoiding the conflict? Sure, Syndicate should have politics involved in their RP. They are sneaky SoB's. But by no means should they be avoiding great payouts of bounties.

Merchants get penalized for trying to sell something for way to cheap, why not penalize the hunters for refusing good bounties?

What if Syndicate play times don't match up? OR you just can't do it? I think a penalty is only viable if Syndicate is boosted up to OP standards and they can't maintain ANY alliance and are the "regulators" in the game.

Maybe just reimburse the placer of the bounty if it expires OR gets bought out?

That will keep the bounties and profits flowing instead of just the  fizzle and double dip...

I was under the impression that if they were refused or expired it went back to the placer...?

I've had that happen, but only as a Nexus if I recall. Maybe that's another perk we don't see often. Or maybe I am spreading lies. If I am it's not intentional. Mostly.

As far as I know, you get your money back when a bounty expires (IMM confirmation?), it makes no sense otherwise.

You don't get your money back when the target buys out, naturally, since buying out is expensive. I've had Thulgan buy out a 2k CP bounty I placed on him, just to make me feel miserable

As for the original suggestion, I agree with it. 50k bounty should net less (if any) items than a 1mil one.

On the other hand, buying out should directly profit the people in syndicate, as it is now, they get nothing when someone buys out.

And lastly:

I placed like 12 bounties last week and 'maybe' 2 got collected.

I am more curious about the RP motivation to place those bounties, but then, that's not for me to investigate.

I like the idea.  I think the gold/cp ranges are a bit high but if it goes into implementation, that can be tweaked for balance.

I'd say

Low = 50k - 99,999 gold, 50 - 99 CPs

Medium = 100k - 199,999 gold, 100 - 249 CPs

High = 200k+ gold, 250+ CPs

But then you have to also factor in the combination bounties like 100k gold + 200 CPs...not sure how that scale would work.

I am more curious about the RP motivation to place those bounties, but then, that's not for me to investigate. I had an angle, I also had the wrong alignment to pull off that angle and took heat for it

50K which you can get virtually risk free in roughly 5 minutes to hire the services of some of the best / most dedicated PKers in the realms to hunt down some of the other best / most dedicated PKers in the game to the exclusion of all else?

Sounds legit.

I would actually be down for making them expire more quickly.

I'm pretty sure when they expire you get your money back, not sure about refused though.
