Gloat/Mercy RP tool

I was thinking, and noticed that we don't have a skill mercy that we can purchase with RP points.

The ability to have 2 hours to speak or/and act after you defeat a person, is a huge RP tool.

I still remember when that Vorkus the Blademaster Orc defeated my Knight Paladin and ate my feet before killing me. I don't think I will ever forget, as it was an awesome RP moment.

The Heroic perks is not just about being able to "mercy", it adds a lot more which has PK advantages.

So I think we can have a "mercy" skills for sale in the Astral Bazaar.

As it's a RP tool for death, we could have it with a twist.

"Slow Death" - This would work like mercy skill, or that Warmaster thing, but it would automatically kill the character after 2 hours. You could kill him before, but you could take the time while he is agonizing in pain to gloat and RP. The death message could be something such as:

"The plasma beast dies from extensive bloodloss."

"In a brief moment your world rushes to black as the last of your blood leaves your body."

Perhaps, create a skill "Slow death" that when used would give your the 'slow-death' effect for x hours.

Heroic - allowed to use mercy (DKs and Crusaders cannot be merciful, even with this perk), 100% heroism, 100% rescue, 100% charge, 101% max heroism/rescue/charge, 50% less chance to land hysteria on, 300% less chance to land fear on

As long as it's not available to crusaders and dark knights, then I'd say why not.

Allow the mercied person to talk and emote as well. That would increase RP in PK a lot

Amen to that. Don't let them move or recall/teleport etc. but allow them to talk and mote. Also be able to kill them instantly at your preference.

This would kind of take away from the heroic perk wouldnt it?

Slightly yes. Mercy is a good RP tool from the perk. However the fear and hysteria resist is a great pk aspect of it.

This is an awesome Idea Mya.

It aids all healers, as well as clerics of tranquility/compassion without them having to take a Perk that seems OOC.

Absolutely love it.

I never understood... Why not DK and Crusaders, other than RP reasons?

Because it would make the process of ranking living weapons much easier (and safer).

Like switching weapons mid-combat? ...It's not like they can be stored in a locker. Or can they? shrug

I may be missing the obvious, just doesn't seem like an issue to me.

I have a level 10 malform. I use that weapon to stun you. Then I switch to my level 2 malform and kill you with it.

OR

I have a strong un-malformed weapon. I use that weapon to stun you. Then I switch to my level 2 malform and kill you with it.

All the hard work is done with the strong weapon and my malform gets the soul.

Edited

Low level malforms are considerably weaker than their original form.

Using a stronger weapon means you might miss the opportunity to kill the person while wielding the malform, and thus it will not feed and grow.

I always switch weapons when feeding low level living weapons. Though it's true, being able to stun makes it easier. Though it doesn't negate any risk, because the a DKs weapon will lose levels whether you die wielding it or not.

Just doesn't seem like a crazy bonus to me. Thanks for clearing that up though, it was something I was just kinda silently like, "Why not?"

I really do like the idea of a "mercy" edge or something like that. I love to RP at my dying enemies, or spare them and walk away leaving them in shame. Though I have trouble choosing mercy when there are other, better, options for perks... It's the powergamer stuggle within.

merciful perk is gone, its tied to heroic now. Sad but true.
