Clerics have bless arms, which blesses shields and Weapons.
It's an useful spell.
But there is nothing clerical for armors. Clerics should be prime material for merchants, but they aren't.
So I thought what if they had something like Invokers to complement their bless arms?
Something cosmetically, with little use for them, but use for others.
So this "bless armor" spell would a cleric (perhaps even a healer) to bless a piece of armor.
The piece of armor would receive the "bless" flag, which I think does nothing in the game.
In the past it allowed armor to be better enchanted with Invokers "enchant armor" .
And a very minor secondary bonus.
I was thinking of 1 hitgain. (+1% HP regen). We have about 16-18 eq pieces, so this would in theory mean a max ~+18 hitgain. Remenber this bonus is negligible to a Cleric who can cure 50 HP with cure critical.
But a Ogre warrior could stack a bit of hitgain.
If you think hit gain is to powerful, as it can be in some borderline cases, then I suggest movegain.
+18 movegain is not that big of a bonus, since there are single pieces of gear that give +20 movegain.
Again this is negligible to a cleric who has access to refresh spell.
The objective of this spell is give clerics something to do to support other characters either as merchants, or at an unafiliated level.
