The Clans of Aabahran!

since factions have comeback with a vengeance, offering cool and unique "things" for their efforts... why not spruce the "feeder clans" up... into something more than just a feeder clan? personally, I've always felt the Clans should have a life of their own. yes, the Knights pick their new recruits from a particular clan... but why should that clan be limited to serving no other purpose than feeding the Knights? They should have members that are dedicated to improving Aabahran in their own way... the Leader may not even be a Knight... this could give people a chance to learn clan (and subsequently cabal) dynamics when it comes to working with others... focusing your rp... etc... it would also be a home for people that want that dynamic but aren't ready or willing to take part in the war oriented cabals. 

this might be an idea that needs to be fleshed out more, maybe a rework of each clan's description, but I think it would be great if being part of a clan meant something all its own. 

Clan specific shops... a place to buy ONE of a KIND clan gear/consumables with gold... these are not meant to compete with Cabal items, merely offering something of interest to a select few. some of the items could merely be a cheaper/easier way to gather one or two consumables useful to the general class/align of the clan members and provide an interesting/cool usable item -could be purely rp oriented but Clan specific-

AND/OR

Joining the Academy could provide extra language sessions and a boost in learning languages, being a part of Hourglass could provide an exp boost when spell casting OR provide a non-pk oriented ability, belonging to the Cartel would mean 5% bank transaction fees anywhere... yada yada, etc. (just some random ideas, not implying these are the skills/abilities they should have... they should all be as balanced as possible)

the premise of the idea is to flesh-out the Clans more and provide a "little" something extra for being a part of that organization - something different if not fully separate from their associated cabal. I was going to post this after giving it more thought... but I prefer more game-mechanic oriented types to expand upon the details and the rp oriented to provide some much needed, different perspective, stuffing. 

I would be more than willing to do some mock-ups of reworked clan descriptions, if need be. 

this isn't really even the bare bones of an idea... maybe the zygote of an idea? anywho, hopefully some of you know what I'm getting at.

Definitely like this! That would be pretty damn awesome.

When you started describing the idea, I hated it. But then you gave the examples and I loved it. Some spice wont hurt.
